nah, there couldn't possibly be another country that got it right where America got it wrong now could there, no they indoctrinated you since nursery school that this is just not in the realm of possibilities...

meh, none of the comments coming from most of you don't surprise me in the least coming from a country where the majority of its people can't pronounce the name of the next country they illegally invade let alone find it on a map...
What are you talking about? Seriously, get a grip.

How am I wrong? And who indoctrinated me? Not the government because they want to get rid of guns.

And do you not see when we complain about how screwed up the U.S. is? Why would I ever say we are perfect and no one else is?

your education system, your government and all its propaganda (namely Hollywood) did and I don't necessarily mean you in particular... your government doesn't give a rats ass about guns, in fact there are powerful lobbies that make billions from guns supporting your government so why on Earth would they government stop that gravy train?

In 2009, 48 law enforcement officers were feloniously killed in the line of duty.
Quote:
* 15 officers died in ambush situations.
* 8 officers died from felonious attacks during arrest situations.
* 8 officers died during traffic pursuits/stops.
* 6 officers died answering disturbance calls.
* 5 officers died during tactical situations (barricaded offender, hostage taking, etc.).
* 4 officers died while investigating suspicious persons/circumstances.
* 2 officers were killed while transporting or maintaining custody of prisoners.
Quote:
* Most officers slain in 2009 (45 of the 48) were killed with firearms. Of those killed with firearms, 28 were killed with handguns. (A breakdown of the types of weapons used in these slayings is provided in Table 27.)
* 2 officers were killed with their own weapons.
* 9 officers attempted to use their weapons; 12 officers fired their weapons.
* 19 officers were slain with firearms when they were 0-5 feet from the offenders.

just some facts to add the to debate

QUESTION:

how many officers are there in America? I wonder what the percentage of officers feloniously killed is....is it mathematically possible to produce that percentage seeing that its SO LOW

theone, your attitude towards the US reminds me of the way social conservative anti-gay crusaders approach homosexuality.... right before they're caught at a gay strip club wearing lace. Just admit it, you have a closet nation-crush on us, don't you?

I am not afraid to admit I did once... I used to love coming there and loved living there for a time... there was a time when I thought the U.S.A. was the place to be... that was then and this is now...

Yea, I have lived in Jersey. I lived in Newark, East Orange, Patterson and people are everywhere. Compare it with Morristown, Short Hills and some of the more country type area, and you can see how population can skew numbers like that. In Newark and the other densely populated cities there was far more crime and gun violence.

Here in Utah we not only believe in gun rights, we encourage them. Right now they are passing legislation that allow you to carry more places, and lower the cost of the permit.

What's your point??? More criminals are stopped by law abiding gun owners each year than are caught "in the act" by police!

You believe that more murders are committed because guns are legally available. Therefore, guns should be outlawed... Right???

Nothing could be further from the truth. Statistics show that more crime is PREVENTED by gun owners than is reported in the news.

The only time a story is reported regarding the use of a firearm is when it involves several people ...a massacre...like Columbine!

There's an old saying in the world of journalism..."If it bleeds, it leads"....But the use of a gun in self-defense is RARELY reported.

Case in point: The doctor who had two crazies invade his home, beat him over the head with a baseball bat, then rape and murder

his daughters. They killed his entire family and burned his house with his daughters tied to their beds. They burned alive! If he had

a gun, his family would have had a better chance of surviving. Now he has to live with the tragic results of his anti-gun decision...
