Could someone recommend to me a few good books (no technical analysis please) on evaluating a stock and maybe your favorite stock sifting software.

Thanks

One that is very helpful on fundamental analysis is Buffetology. It was written by Warren Buffett's daughter in law, and she explains the math Buffett uses when he is evaluating a stock's current and future value. Good read, I highly recommend it.

Finviz has a screener where you can scan using fundamentals.

you will find plenty of cramer bashers on here but Jim cramers books are actually very good read for learning how to valuate a given stock from a traders view. Maybe not for buffet style investing but for the "active investor"

I like the Motley Fool series of books. They're very much anti-daytrader so have quite a bit of information on FA.

i just was reading this book tonight because i was going to share it with someone and I could not help but laugh sometimes this time through, history totally repeats itself and sometimes true value doesn't matter, the feeling and cycle (with a psych) is what digs

from 1912, best read i have had, easy smooth and intelligent.... amazing nothing changed 100 years later, seriously one good guy ... Thanks Charles!

the warren buffett way, was a good read. Did not really help me much. Then next was Debunker, which I thought was a good beginners book. Right now reading two big to fail, which is fun to read.
