I agree and with all due respect, I just don't see what the P&R section has to do with stocks or how the P&R section makes HSM a better place. Most people come here to talk stocks and I can't count how many times I have had to knock some angry poster off with an 'e-stick' that didn't like something I posted in the P&R section in a completely unrelated thread (a stock thread) and those posters NEVER get banned. So my question to you is this... How does this make HSM a better place?

See, the thing is, I KNOW that you and I can disagree on something like Israel/Palestine, keep it civil and unpersonal and retain the ability to discuss something completely unrelated in another thread and not carry a grudge from the former topic into another thread but the majority of people do not possess this skill.

Some things I mention here now, to me, raise the issue of the green square system. My grammar for example sucks, I am fully aware of this, but you, Stockjock-e, never attacked my grammar when we have debated, you instead stuck to the issue being debated. So how is someone, as a newby to the stockmarket, lurker to this site, newb in general supposed to take the green square rating seriously when we have people here with two, three, four, green squares that, attack someone's grammar before dissecting their argument for what it is? or insults a poster's intelligence with sarcastic responses? I don't care if I have one or five green squares on this site, that is not my point, in fact I don't think I deserve the 'expert' status that I already have here. My question is this... Should we not hold a poster getting one of these green sqaures to the same standards that say, for example you display?

Yesterday i read a post from a known member about how great the usa are
and i still dont know if he meant it sarcastic or serious.Wanted to reply twice but let it be..
Dont wanna argue, dont wanna fight and dont want to waste time.
So be there or ignore it, its easy..

I did not liked the pol. section at the beginning but now i would miss it a lot.
And like i said it before, if someone is well as a trader, it does not
mean that he has a clue about politics or is a nice person
but if he deserves a green because he is a good stock picker
he should get one, and a red one if he is a spammer.

And the social issue should not be mixed it this system.

Sometimes its hard to accept that, but thats the way.
And in 88 % of the cases the this things match.
And realy thats the place where i learned what freedom of speech realy is,
and it helped me to understand the Us people a little more.
How they think, how they act and why they act like they act.
And one important thing, dont take it to serious there.
Its a pol. sec in a internet message board. Nothing more and nothing let.

But lets stop this discusion at this point here and or take it to the pol. section..

Ps. And by the way. I had my best laughts on the pol section.
It can be so funny there. Yesterday again, but i wont post why
because someone could be offended why im laughing about him.

PS2 you see when you start with politict you cant stop.
Here im the radical one People often feel offended about my
statements, about muslims, about germans about the system,
about i think everything, My girlfriend freaks out twice a day about me
but compared to the average on pol. section im a lamb..
and like i said i did not liked the pol. section also at the beginning.

So lets trade and dont get offended all the time. Sometimes it is rought, but who cares..
Its a stockboard and not a schoolgirls social network.
Ignore the dumb one, respect the cool one and the days pass..

HSM is a financial discussion forum not a politics and religion forum. HSM is not a place to degrade anyone's religion. How does religious intolerance and racist comments contribute tho the overall wellness of this financial messaging board??? I am appalled how admins of this site turn a blind eye to racism and religious intolerance.

Look, there are other sites dedicated to such topics. We are here to discuss stocks and not offend a certain group of members with your Anti-Islam threads.

Draw the line on censorship when it topics become offensive, racist and intolerant to other members in general. HSM should be welcoming to members from all backgrounds, Jewish, Muslim, christian, Buddhist atheist.. red, black, blue, whatever! Ethnic diversity creates wealth. That's an obvious fact... isn't it??

HSM IS welcoming...we welcome everyone--and this is a stock forum FIRST..

Problem is this folks....things that are offensive, racist or especially 'intolerant' is not the same for every person... What you may find OK others may irrationally freak out over..and what you see as offensive may not even raise an eyebrow....but it may raise a good debate on why something should or should not be such a way. I know one person who is absolutely insane when it comes to pets and believes pets should have clothing because she 'gets offended' when she see's a 'naked' dog or animal and that people shouldn't have to see an animals dangling junk. She's absolutely serious....she wants to start petitions..she has called/written her congressman determined one day to have this as a national law that we cover up any 'naked animal' for decency purposes...and IMO she is an absolute nutcase that got this way because one too many people pandered to her--told her her ideas and thoughts were worth listening to...and now she is a monster ego of self absorbed false importance waiting to be unleashed...no pun intended. I know another from work who goes absolutely ballistic and is 'offended' by cigarettes and wants them banned from our state--truth is she just likes pissing people off...and she is an ex smoker.. Problem is--her personal issues--become everyones issues..because SHE is irritated... Is that right or is that just imposing, pompus and self rightious to tell someone else how they should be/live/think cause you are some self appointed expert??

I can't sugar coat this so I will just say it right out--We can't pander to every idiot or nitwit on the internet with a self-important ego or ideal for what they consider offensive or don't have a stomach for...or because they believe that their view for what should be censored should be imposed onto everyone else regardless of what they may think or believe--see the catch 22 problem here? YOUR view may not be someone elses...and there is the rub. If we pandered to everyone then NOTHING would get posted--if someone goes looking they can find something offensive or objectionable in anything--and the problem is too many people DO go looking deliberately and keep doing that because they enjoy their little power trip and they get placated by others who are terrified to hurt someones itty bitty feelins.. Life is raw--it pulls no punches...this is a world for the masses--not the one.. If you don't want to be offended--don't click on something that reeks of being offensive to you--that is called self responsibility...and don't take a posting on a website as a direct one on one personal interaction--its not...its a choice. That is the first line of curbing all this garbage. Otherwise--to everyone who may be offended I say grow a pair...because in life it gets worse every day in the real world with MUCH bigger more important issues...and arguing or being upset over a web forum post is about as significant as an ingrown hair on your butt--it only irritates you and those around you that you take your frustration out on. The only reason so much in the P&R forum goes on is because people click on titles and scream and whine how upset they are...that is gas on a flame--people are feeding the trolls and so they keep coming. The Mods DO curb a lot of the worse of the worse--the outright blatant stuff....but we also try to balance that with allowing personal opinions and views--and while not every opinion is gold, if you want us to be the thought police--we can do that but just know that you may find that some of your posts may not fit 'the supreme criteria' set either. Seriously--ignoring and minding ones own business IS the best method...it does not make it go away--but it DOES diffuse and remove the power such topics have to hinder its growth... No matter WHAT is done it will never be enough to some and too much for others--solve THAT problem and you can rule the world.
