This week we've closed 4 option trades;

SLV - 103% Gain (Option)
CAT - 52% Gain (Option)
MSFT - 98% Gain (Option)

In order not to give a false view of what gains people should expect if they join the program, below I am posting the weighted (or real) gains to four trades displayed above. That is, I am taking into account the % allocations into each trade, and then multiplying them by base dollar gain on each trade. The % gain/losses displayed above are cumulative gains.

Weighted gain on the four trades displayed above – ANR (0.84% loss) + MSFT (1.23% gain) + CAT (2.79% gain) + SLV (2.63% gain) = 7.49% weighted gain.

So it still comes to a respectable gain, especially compared to return the S&P produced in the same time period of a 5.6% loss.

The VIX has been ripen' hard; as you well know, you know were I stand on these markets and on the VIX. Keep reading those newsletters for updates. All I can say for those on the board is that with the VIX this high, you have to be very selective of what calls or puts you buy. The IV (implied volatility) will quickly eat away your profits in those calls or puts if market stall at this lower range. Furthermore, if you are thinking of buying premium via the VIX, do realize that you're a) paying a premium, and b) buying protection based not necessarily on a falling market but on expectations that people will pay more for call and puts. Big difference.
