TRE - Sino Forest (TSX) - Page 10

There is some big players from what I read getting into this stock with some big blocks of over 1million. Not 100% sure where it is going, I got in at 2.60 and got scared off, but look what happened lol

I heard that earlier this week or it could have been last week.

i think it was on fp

certainly the demand is there, however the question still remains about the transparency of tre.

also even if all the allegations are false, sino has said themselves that due to these allegations they will be holding back on growth.

imo if they knew all these allegations are false, why do that?  just risk to reward wise it didn't make sense to me.

They do appear to be a little slow with the rebuttal but then again you have to be cautious in these matters. It would be good to hear some good news, but sometimes you can simply get away with just riding the highs and protecting profit, just watch volumes and techincals. It is when you over think that you lose IMO.

I am in it for more of a swing trade, nothing long term here for me.

You may also want to check out NKL and PCY, I and many others have been riding this for the past week.

there was a great article in the globe today (ill post when i get home)-- discussing the wellington group and the other billionaire...

it seems like they have done something similar to this before..buying beat down companies ....

Wow just read through all of that. I can not wait to see what happens to TRE regarding whether they are a scam or not. I mean, they are providing documents about thier holdings and they are being complient with the investigation.... I'm rooting for them. But we'll see what happens. :)

The one thing I HATE though is how there are so many other Chinese companies getting a poor reputation because of TRE and the idea that Chinese companies are "fake." You look other chinese companies right now and they are all trading super cheap. But then again there's always the off chance that these aren't real lol.

Also congrats to anyone who has made money with the swings on TRE! That is some great trading!

There is real reasons to fear the integrity of this company...

However the price is showing that this is not a real scam. A real scam would be at a share price of zero by now and big players would not be taking such risks.

But I have no idea where this is going. I got scared off and sold my shares at $4.77 and watched it fall to under $4. Then all of a sudden, big fund managers got in and drove the price up... Definately a bit weird and something to still question. I watched this stock at $5.20 and then it kept climbing to $5.60 and I decided to try my luck again. So far it has done well... But I am keeping a very close eye on this as anything can happen and fast and I don't blame those who have sat on the side lines.

they might be pumping and dumbing..you never know..

i fully believed they could disprove the allegations in time and that price would return

but part of me said.. 5 dollars is the highest it'll go and sold my remaining shares thinking the fear will come back... i'll just buy on a pull back.

and like it hasn't pulled back.  currently 7.50 seems like a temp top.

picked up 100 units yesterday and sold off today for a quick gain but geez i doubled up but knowing i could have tripled.. leaves a bitter taste.

imo it won't break 8.50 until the review is complete or there's actual proof.

anyways the only thing i really learned is that paulson isn't the top class investor i thought he was.

the guy made 1 mistake..lol...

i was reading his reasons for purchase...he said sino- as a potential take over candidate (he used to spec in m&a activity)-- one of the reasons why he bought it...

his cds

and gold predictions have been all right...

bac, mgm, c...all profit...

you cannot knock down a guy who went aganst ALL of wallstreet and won...if that doesnt spell excellence..i dont know what does..2nd biggest hedge ffund in the world still

you know who i think is an idiot: carl ichan!....

are people still waiting for the investor tour?ahahah

I think they may be able to disprove them as well. The big thing to look at here is not just whether the allegations are true or not, but by how much. I mean, maybe they only committed a little fraud. That would decrease some numbers on thier financials but the company would still be worth something. The question is..... how much? Still wish I could have bought when it was under that $2 range. :(

Wow! I cant believe this move! laughing.gif

Yeah, $2 was a gift if somebody was brave enough to do it.

TRE will establish its new channel, $2 is the support, the upper channel will be set soon. The value of the company is obviously not zero at this point, or as you said, it would have been there by now.

There are still a lot of facts and figures that need to come out.

yup certainly, at first i thought they could easily prove how much cash they were holding and i've looked at their data center thing but like i need a professional opinion on it.  and i really wish they could have looked at that first and reported that..oh they really do have a billion dollars in cash.  if i just got that 1 bit of news i would have never sold.

but i dunno if they can say accounting differences is fraud you know.  muddy claims they don't even own so much trees in so and so; that's fraud but say they do own the trees and they prove it... but then they still have to estimate how much wood is there and i'm sure there's a lot of room for error.

imo there's still another good play on this stock, if the review goes well then in my mind it'll hit new highs...

I got in earlier today again. Drank some of the bandwagon koolaid. Hopefully I can pull out with 10%. Not sure if the direction tomorrow, but hopefully there will be strong buying pressure at low 7's
