I trade an account for someone else and they stubbornly won't stop using Scottrade, and yes that damn site has been freezing up left and right. Firefox, IE, and Chrome, and I use XP. Not a fan of them at all, I would never recommend Scottrade to anyone.

i left some options contracts open there after switching brokers, adn every time i try to close them out, the webpage wont load. i did the Live chat with one of their representatives and told him my problem to which he replied "OK"...and i waited aobut 3 minutes for a follow-up message but said F you and closed the window

I just went from SCOTTRADE to TDAMERITRADE-- Love it 100%, I got 500 free trades (good for 30 days) in both accounts and 100.00 for each referral over 2,000.00- The commission is slightly higher but to me worth every penny. Level 4 is a awesome bag of tricks.....

How does TDA handle withdrawals from your account? Can you do an ACH withdrawal to your checking account or do you need to call and request a check like Scottrade? That is the biggest pisser for me with Scottrade...you can transfer money into you trading account online easy but the make it difficult to get your money back out.

ACH in and out ( My accounts are linked to bank but I havent done any tranfers yet) I did a full transfer from ST-- 24 hr assistance a phone call away- DRIP plan- TOS platform is free- up to level 4 options and tons more. Roundtrip comm is about 20.00 compared to 14.00 but well worth it to me, first 30 days you can trade free- I got 500 in each account, I'll never use them all in 30 days ... I left SCOTTRADE because I wanted level 4 and they only have level 2, they own OPTIONSFIRST which has level 4 BUT you cant trade stocks PM/AH which is worthless to me- I would have to have a options account there and trade account there and have to move stocks around if I wanted to sell calls etc- just way to much BEAR for me.. I want 1 broker that has it all......

For penny stocks, I'd say ChoiceTrade or Zecco, but for everything else Think or Swim is who I'd recommend.

I just moved to TDA, whats the advantage you prefer at TOS? I get the TOS platform free and getting adjusted to it- out of the 2 what stands out most to you? THANKS...

I've never used TDA, but the fact that you can use the ToS platform is half of the benefits. The other is the customer service, which has been leaps and bounds better than any other broker I've used. TDA owns ToS now, so there is probably very little difference between you're experience and someone who uses ToS directly.

I think the ToS platform available to TDA users is a stripped down version of the main ToS platform. I can't confirm this but recall some ToS guys talking about features that are only available on the main ToS platform.

Yeah, sogo is, umm, a special case--have you talked to the guy with OCD yet? He repeated my order back to me like 12 times. Another time I called, I think the guy dropped the phone on the floor--I picture a boiler room setup in a strip mall warehouse.
