The new test reactor is slightly bigger than a coffee cup and can be used to generate 2-10 liters of hydrogen. The reactor uses small packages containing 4-10 grams of API’s proprietary AlumiFuel powder mixture; the packages can be conveniently discarded after the reaction. The unit features no moving parts, is simple and safe to use and neither contains nor produces any toxic materials. This reactor has been used to run smaller variations of the fuel mixture and various hydrogen generation reaction control mechanisms.

The use of this small reactor has significantly contributed to the Company’s nanoscale research using the resources of Drexel’s Nanotechnology Institute. In continuation of the research described previously (see API press release of July 16, 2009), API has been able to analyze new types of samples of post-reaction powders to fully comprehend and control the reaction for various applications. In addition, through the efforts of Drexel’s distinguished nanotechnology faculty and API’s material sciences engineers, API has been successful in observing and capturing the interactions between the individual fuel particles and hydrogen bubble formations using a Laser Scanning Microscope and various sophisticated optical microscopes. The groundbreaking knowledge obtained through this research has been vital in developing new parameters to further optimize and control API’s hydrogen generation reaction for multiple applications.

This new small-scale reactor represents API’s second reactor product, joining the PBIS-1000, which is in early stages of production for weather balloon lift gas and other applications (see API press release of August 5, 2009).

API’s Director of Engineering, Mr. Sean McIntosh said, “In addition to this laboratory research functionality, we are actively pursuing opportunities to develop this smaller reactor as a commercially available small-scale source of on-demand hydrogen. The potential applications of this product include power sources for small fuel cells to charge cell phones, laptops, cameras, and PDAs. Other possible uses include: small scale welding applications; small portable flameless catalytic heaters; and industrial laboratory settings where small quantities of hydrogen are needed for experiments, and the users do not want the expense or hassle of storing large pressurized cylinders. The new reactor could also be a “green energy” education and demonstration tool for high schools and universities, providing teachers, professors, and students with an affordable, safe, convenient source of hydrogen.”

AlumiFuel Power, Inc. Developing New Hand-Held Flameless Heating Device

Old News, getting thread caught up to date.

Press Release Source: AlumiFuel Power, Inc. On Thursday October 15, 2009, 7:00 am EDT

CENTENNIAL, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Early production stage hydrogen generation company AlumiFuel Power, Inc. (“API”), the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based wholly owned operating subsidiary of AlumiFuel Power Corporation (OTCBB: AFPW), (the “Company”), announced today that it is developing a new hand-held flameless heating device with several commercial application possibilities.

The flameless heating device uses packets of API’s patented mixture of aluminum powder and proprietary additives. Upon reacting with water, the packets release hydrogen gas, which then pass through various surfaces and chemicals that induce a flameless reaction of hydrogen with the oxygen from the air, resulting in the release of heat. Furthermore, the exothermic nature of the aluminum-water reaction results in the production of additional heat. The components will be integrated into convenient wallet-sized packaging. The system will feature no moving parts or toxic components and will be safe, portable, and easy to use. Each packet will generate heat for over an hour at rates that will allow this device to be safely held in bare hands. Furthermore, as no carbon monoxide is released as a result of the reaction, the system is safe to use in any environment. The packets used in this process can be easily discarded after use.

API’s Director of Engineering, Mr. Sean McIntosh, said: “We are excited about the development of this new product, which showcases the versatility of our technology. This handwarming device can be used for recreational, first aid, and harsh environment applications by such diverse groups as outdoor enthusiasts, sports fans, the military, and emergency responders. The inherent safety, affordability, durability, and heat output will enable us to successfully introduce this product and ultimately capture a share of these multimillion dollar target markets. Upon completing the first phase of this development, we will consider scaling this product up and down to target other new applications.”

PART 1

AFPW's DD STORY: From New Location to Department of Defense!
More DD to come in the Story, will unroll some Past DD as I dig it up. Lets ride this bouncer to the top.

AFPW CLOSED .04 Friday, COMPLETELY UNDERVALUED. EVEN A Senior Analyst is speculating AFPW should be in the .40s range!

CHAPTER 1, THE UPGRADE
Back in July 2009 they moved into their new Laboratory Facility in Philadelphia. Their new location is located in the Philadelphia Science Center. The location is not only bigger by "four fold", the new building is also going under certification as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). This is the highest benchmark for "green" buildings around the world.

Philadelphia is also the "Home of Hydrogen Energy", so its location gives AFPW a big Advantage over competitors. They are also located near the University so the location of the center of a high-technology talent pool and advanced nanotechnology materials analysis capabilities, we are ideally situated to grow AFPW's business base.

CHAPTER 2, GROWING UP AND GETTING NOTICE.
At first Oxbridge Research initiated a "Growth Company Coverage on AFPW, then AFPW gets featured in Keystone Edge's Online Magazine. In the magazine article we realize just how big AFPW will be. They are partners with Kaymont Consolidated, which is the world’s largest distributor of weather balloons, a $100 million market.

In the Magazine, we also see our CLOSE TIES to UNIVERSITIES.
Cade says the company's relationship with the Drexel University Nanotechnology Consortium has been critical to its success, providing access to high-powered electron microscopes and other invaluable nanoscale functions.

CHAPTER 3, YES, OUR CEO IS A HEAVY HITTER.
Our President and Chief Executive Officer, David Cade, was a featured speaker at the Environment & Green Energy Conference held at the University City Science Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 8, 2009.

And the Conference was not little conference...

"The Conference was jointly hosted by the State of Pennsylvania, City of Philadelphia, and the Rhone-Alps Region of France as a precursor to Pollutec 2010, an international environmental trade show focusing on clean and renewable energy, to be held in Lyon, France in December, 2010. Pollutec 2010 will highlight relevant US technology, with a specific focus on the State of Pennsylvania, which is at the forefront of “green energy” initiatives in the U.S. The Rhone-Alps Region enjoys a similar position and reputation in France."

CHAPTER 4, TIME TO DEVELOPE
While things are moving along for AFPW's reputation they are still moving forward with production and expansion of their lineup.

AFPW is developing a new Reactor that will expand AFPW's capabilities to adapting to broader applications.

They are Partnered with the World's Largest Weather Balloon Distributor, these new reactor's will help us become the dominant supplier! IMO

This new small-scale reactor represents API’s second reactor product, joining the PBIS-1000, which is in early stages of production for weather balloon lift gas and other applications (see API press release of August 5, 2009).

CHAPTER 5, TIME TO MAKE SOME MONEY AND MANUFACTURE!
AFPW began manufacturing its Portable Balloon Inflaction System at APEX Piping Systems Inc. back in September 2009. This is AFPW's first commercially available product! $$$

"The new reactor is a lighter more ruggedized version of its predecessor with the same hydrogen generating ability (see API’s press release of August 3, 2009). A detailed Operations and Maintenance Manual for the PBIS-1000 has also been completed and will be available to customers."

AlumiFuel Power, Inc. Developing Flameless Ration Heater
AlumiFuel Power, Inc. Developing Flameless Ration Heater

Dec. 22, 2009 (Business Wire) -- Early production stage hydrogen generation company AlumiFuel Power, Inc. (“API”), the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based wholly owned operating subsidiary of AlumiFuel Power Corporation (OTCBB: AFPW), (the “Company”), announced today that it has conducted successful testing of a new generation Flameless Ration Heater (FRH) prototype using its AlumiFuel powder mix, which is customized to serve a variety of applications.

API’s FRH system is based on the reaction of water with aluminum powder and proprietary additives to produce heat. This fuel mixture has been customized to fit into standard FRH packaging and uses similar operational procedures. First phase internal testing has confirmed that API’s technology is less expensive, and produces more heat more quickly than existing FRH products, which use magnesium powder-based mixtures. Standard FRH packaging includes a polyester pouch containing the powder, which is activated by adding a small quantity of water to the packet, and then placing it in a tilted position in the box containing the food ration.

The FRH has numerous military and commercial food product applications in the U.S. and virtually all other developed countries. The most well-known such product is the U.S. military’s Meal-Ready-to-Eat (MRE) ration. Over the current five year period, the U.S. Department of Defense will spend up to $950 million on these MREs, purchasing some 42 million units per year. The FRHs are purchased by the MRE prime contractors (assemblers) under a subcontract, at a cost of approximately $36 million per year. In addition to generating more heat for less cost in the same packaging, this new technology conforms perfectly to current MRE performance requirements, and operates in an identical manner to current MRE Flameless Ration Heaters.

The nanoscale materials characterization performed at Drexel’s Nanotechnology Institute has been instrumental in API’s customization of this fuel mixture for FRH applications. (See API news release of July 16, 2009 for more information on API’s membership in the Drexel Nanotechnology Consortium).

API’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. David Cade, said: “We are excited about our newest development and its immense market potential. We will be working with key contacts in industry and government to commercialize this product on a mass scale. In addition, we are already developing a more advanced second generation prototype that will make this product even more safe and affordable, which would further increase its market share potential.”

Some things that jumped out at me:

"First phase internal testing has confirmed that API's technology is less expensive, and produces more heat more quickly than existing FRH products"

"Over the current five year period, the U.S. Department of Defense will spend up to $950 million on these MREs"

"In addition to generating more heat for less cost in the same packaging, this new technology conforms perfectly to current MRE performance requirements, and operates in an identical manner to current MRE Flameless Ration Heaters."

In short. Quicker to heat, costs less, and in a $950 million market.
