Well the Acorn story was on NPR this morning. You can hear it here on Morning Edition.

http://www.npr.org/

They explained that the prostitute and pimp were Right Wing Conservative plants, that the Acorn employees were wrong, and that Acorn will be retraining all their employees.

Yes, and they also explained how Acorn has been under attack by the Right Wing ever since Obama started running for President, how the Right Wing is desperately trying to associate Obama with Acorn, and how Glen Beck is the voice behind this story.

Maybe the GOP should run Glen Beck in 2012.

So there you go, Clarkey. I kept you in mind.

wow impressive...they actually said SOMETHING about ACORN on ur NPR...sure lets try and discredit the two young adults who have stepped up and taken on this organization..lets try and ignore the FACTS and instead try and call this a setup...Its a sad sad thing to see some people disregard all the facts about this and instead try and discredit the two young adults...The bottom line is ACORN is corrupt from the bottom to the top and liberals CANT see that! no point in arguing with you maybenow...if you can't even go to the foxnews website and READ an article or two there, then obviously youre not an open minded citizen and its a waste of time to even try talking with you..

heres a quote from an article on your NPR site:
"To Lewis, though, it's all part of something bigger: a well-orchestrated, partisan campaign to destroy her organization."

The difference between you and me maybenow, is that I see this organization as corrupt and any corrupt organization deserves to be shut down (no matter what party it supports or is involved with). You on the other hand see this simply as a conservative "attack" (as does ACORNS CEO Bertha Lewis) and that puts you on the defensive and thus no facts will persuade you otherwise....take off the blind fold you have on

I posted a Q&A from the AP wire on the Universal Healthcare thread....with a viable question afterwards... I don't think folks want to discuss it...just like I don't think anyone wants any resolutions to happen...I think we're all stuck in a bitch-and-moan-bubble...

Playing Devil's Advocate...okay, I'm done. It's a pinball game.

How many interviews do you think they did in order to get the few that gave poor, and criminal advice?

House votes to deny all federal funds for ACORN

WASHINGTON – The House voted Thursday to deny all federal funds for ACORN in a GOP-led strike against the scandal-tainted community organizing group that comes just three days after the Senate took similar action. "ACORN has violated serious federal laws, and today the House voted to ensure that taxpayer dollars would no longer be used to fund this corrupt organization," said second-ranked House Republican Eric Cantor of Virginia.

The vote, on a provision attached to a student aid bill, was 345-75, with Democrats supplying all the "no" votes.

APNewsBreak: ACORN Sues Filmmakers

BEN NUCKOLS, Associated Press Writer

BALTIMORE (AP) ― ACORN has filed a lawsuit against the
makers of a hidden-camera video that showed employees
of its Baltimore office giving tax advice to a man posing as
a pimp and a woman posing as a prostitute.

The liberal activist group contends that the audio portion
of the video was obtained illegally because Maryland
requires two-party consent to create sound recordings.

The two employees seen in the video were fired after it was
posted online. The lawsuit says the employees, Tonja Thompson
and Shera Williams, suffered "extreme emotional distress."

The multimillion-dollar lawsuit seeks damages from James O'Keefe
and Hannah Giles, who played the pimp and prostitute in the
videos, and from conservative columnist Andrew Breitbart, who
posted the videos on his Web site.

I saw that....the republicans who voted against this--idiots and hypocrites...they should be removed from office...its just absurd...

I understand how they may think that congress should not get involved in private contracts--but that would MAYBE apply if this was a contract between two private entities, however when such obvious laws and personal rights are being broken by a private contract--YES you have to be involved if it violates US laws...AND if its a contract WITH the US Government, then yes as the entity contracting you have the right to set reasonable and legal limitations and expectations for conduct as a government contractor that they have to abide by. Duh...

This was simply protection of Haliburton by 'friends' who probably get kickbacks or favors.. Disgusting to see in congress...ignoring the obvious and common sense for the monetary... Cronies such as this need to be removed from office...
