IQMC +316%

If I'm looking at the chart correctly, it looks like it already surpassed almost all key levels of resistance. This will move as high as the MM's want it to and as far as the profit takers are willing to let it ride before taking it off the board.

IQMC back up to +150%

Now the key is to look over today's action and determine why this was a pinch that ran .........

IQMC and CENC were no doubt the biggest performers of the group. Their highest PPS gains of the day were and 316% and 259%.

Another disclaimer is that pinch plays can take a few days to form. It's much easier to be in earlier than to have to play them day of and make sure you get in at the right time because once they move it's hard to coordinate that.

Hopefully somebody can collaborate with me to form some ideas on why these moved the way they did.

So what criteria set those 2 apart from the others when you look at the action today? (my guess is volume)

Regarding Level 2, you can make money without it, but you can probably make more with it. If you don't have it, sell at a price target determined beforehand. This assumes you can't use a trailing stop on that particular stock.

Unfortunately I use Scottrade so the selling options are quite limited.

I think you're right though Rowdy ......... volume ....... but doesn't L2 help you to correctly view how the buy/sells are racking up?

I think instead of trying to hit the home-run I am going to use your strategy and set a percentage goal instead of winging it.

Haha ......

I can't wait. I think the more I test this out, the more adept I am going to get at spotting them. For example, CENC was not on the list until this morning at around 9am MST .......I saw it listed in another forum that said it was thin and about to make a break ......so naturally I ran it's chart and it looked like a pincher alright. Volume popped up and boy did she take off. My over-cautious self waited to long (40 minutes) to get in and ended up selling for even.

I've seen some suggestion that when the Parabolic Sar finishes below the previous day's close - you'll get even greater chance of a runner. Makes sense though given that the PSAR is a major resistance level.

I might hijack your thread from time to time if you don't mind. Never got around to making my own thread of the same concept. Just gotta work on my strategy a little bit more to ensure profits.

Props to BranRx for reminding me to post this annotated chart of a pinch.......

Ok Im tinkering with a pincher filter on stockfetcher. Here are some stocks I have so far. Scanning for a pinch that has been occuring for at least 15 days and may have evened out 5 days ago and where RSI recently crossed above 30. I want to throw in PSAR as well, still working on that. So this scan is not a pinch in progress but a pinch that may be opening upward.
UBET
COGO
OTIV
FLDR

If anyone see's anything in these stocks that doesnt fit the proper definition of a "good" pinch let me know.

Excellent scan. COGO is the only one without the +DI ticking up on the ADX. That's a big key. It'll need to in order to ensure a pinch.

I REALLY like UBET, OTIV, and FLDR.
