Interesting volume spikes precede rise in Lifeline Biotechs (LLBO)
Today's Financial News - Posted July 23, 2009

Who’s been trading Lifeline Biotechs Inc. (LLBO)?
by J. Christoph Amberger

Baltimore, MD — TFN: Far more interesting than todays 88% gain in Lifeline Biotechs Inc. (PINK:LLBO) are the unexplained volume spikes that preceded it in the days and weeks before.

As early as July 16, Transworldnews.com had picked up on these movements:

“Lifeline Biotechs Inc (PINK:LLBO) advanced 25.00% to $0.0010 on no news. Lifeline Biotechs Inc is a medical technology company developing products focused on prevention, early diagnosis of cancer using innovative technological applications for oncology.”

The key phrase here is “on no news”.

In fact, the last bit of news about this penny stock dates back to May, when the company announced it was “preparing for a filing with the FDA for the Company’s First Warning System, a capable process designed to assist in the early detection of breast cancer.”

Preparing isn’t filing, and filing is a long shot from trials, and trials are a long shot from approval.

Insider transactions are currently hard to track. But over the years, there’s never been a better indicator for insider activity than volume spikes on no news, initially with no measurable effect on the share price.

Sure, this is a penny stock with a miniscule float, subject to wild fluctuations on volume that wouldn’t make a better capitalized stock twitch.

Still, I have a hunch that there’s going to be news out on this stock soon. It’s either an actual filing… or maybe even a corporate take-over. Or it’s a pump-and-dump… although at this point I see no tell-tale signs of active promotion.

Speculative investors should keep an eye out for the next volume spike. It looks like the next move will be either a steep ascent… or a crashing descent.

"LLBO.PK has in the past year filed for a patent on the recent technological advancements of the First Warning System, which has achieved the capability of identifying and classifying tissue abnormalities of the breast with sensitivities (ability to identify) of 95-100% and specificities (verify) of 87-90%. First Warning Systems has retained a firm that specializes in FDA filings to assist in the preparation of its preliminary filing with the FDA, which is expected by the end of July."

I'll watch this for a pullback early next week or will consider flipping it on the news. Regardless, trade it like the .PK it is. GL.

Got in at .016 yesterday. Will this drop below .01 for more accumulation or will it keep going up until July31 with people anticipating the filing?

It's on my radar now...I might be a little late to the ballgame unless it does pull-back some.

1. First Warning Systems device for early breast cancer detection ready for FDA filing by end of this month.

2. LLBO awarded U.S. Patent 7,384,401 B2 on its OvaScope™ technology. The OvaScope™ has been designed and developed to assist in the early detection of ovarian cancer. Historically, ovarian cancer has not been detected until its advanced stages, which has led to poor survival rates.
To date, the preliminary testing has proved to be very promising. Lifeline will begin taking the next steps toward bringing the OvaScope to market upon completion of its current review of the testing data results and the market for the product.

3. LLBO has The MastaScope™ device to assist in detection of breast cancer. The Company will now evaluate the competition and market for this product, as well as its potential of being a complementary product to Lifeline’s First Warning early breast cancer detection system.

4. Of the approximately $138 billion spent on cancer each year, Lifeline’s cutting-edge detection device will boast the potential to save the healthcare industry billions of dollars annually and generate very good revenues.

5. “The First Warning System™ with test results from over 700 women, the computer software has achieved technology levels in its capabilities of identifying and classifying abnormalities of the breast with sensitivities of 95% to 100% and specificities of 87% to 90%. Last year we filed for a patent covering these technology advances.”

6. waiting for patent from FDA for “The First Warning System™. The news can come anytime as it was filed in 2008 and they have already received patent for OvaScope™ as mentioned above.

7. Holmes continued to say that “With these levels of capabilities the First Warning System™ could potentially be commercialized later this year. There is some work ahead of us in order to be in position for market introduction, but it is possible we could, and hopefully, will introduce the system later this year.”

8. LLBO Has funding in place to complete FDA approval

9. Good managment with excellent credentials, MBA, MD, FRCS from North Western University.

News0.01830 Lifeline Biotechnologies Prepares to Update Pink Sheets

Jul 27, 2009 08:30:02 (ET)

RENO, Nev., Jul 27, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Lifeline Biotechnologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets: LLBO) today announced that it will update Pink Sheets with current information on the Company and plans to utilize Pink Sheets' Guidelines for maintaining the information on a current basis.

Jim Holmes, Lifeline's CEO said that "Lifeline's information on Pink Sheets has not been recently updated. This may take us several weeks, possibly closer to a month to complete. In particular, the financial information will be time consuming, but it will be completed as soon as possible."

Holmes continues, "The First Warning System(TM), a process that has been designed, developed and tested to assist in the early detection of breast cancer, is nearly ready for submission to the FDA. The FDA's response to this initial filing could take several months to receive. We expect the FDA's response to give us guidance for the subsequent filing required in order to obtain marketing clearance for this proprietary process."

Lifeline Biotechnologies previously received two patents on its First Warning System(TM) hardware and has in the past year filed for a patent on the technological advancements of the First Warning System (TM) software. The software has achieved the robust capability of identifying and classifying tissue abnormalities of the breast with sensitivities (ability to identify) of 95% to 100% and specificities (verify) of 87% to 90%. Currently, it is widely recognized that mammograms miss an estimated 20 to 30% of the breast cancers.

Lifeline competes in the money markets for funds to continue the development of its products as well as operating and administrative expenses. The cost of funds for companies such as Lifeline is expensive and the terms have been and may continue to be dilutive.
