Wait a minute..... The Commerce Department IS Gov't!

Communists.

Government-talk can make anything sound beneficial no matter how bad it is really... Lets take the subject of Rape or sexual assault and use it as they have done:

What we are talking about is enhancing pleasure and consideration to you if you cooperate, and reducing irritation and perhaps even eliminating the need to use condoms or other prevention means, through creation and use of more trusted digital & fleshy appendages used with as little intrusive objection as possible."
See?? Doesn't sound so bad....so drop and spread em...

Not to jack my own thread, but I attended a fund raising dinner at a local college a few weeks back, the guest speaker was President George W. Bush.

I came away with a new respect for the man and the office of President. He was very different than what you see on T.V. No cameras were allowed, not even local media. Candid, relaxed, very funny, insightful. Still disagree on serveral things but it was a great experience.

If you ever have the chance to attend something like this, do it!!! I went with the intention of throwing a shoe, or atleast wanting to very badly, but left with a very different opinion.

Socialist Obama undermines US policy

Obama to ease travel restrictions to Cuba, allow more U.S. cash to island

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration Friday said it will allow for more U.S. travel to Cuba, making it easier for schools, churches and cultural groups to visit the island.

A senior Obama official told The Miami Herald the much-expected move to expand cultural, religious and educational travel to Cuba is part of the administration's continuing ``effort to support the Cuban people's desire to freely determine their own future.

What in the hell do we have to learn from communist cuba. How to conserve toilet paper?

Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Miami, the new chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, assailed the revision, saying they ``will not help foster a pro-democracy environment in Cuba.
I agree 100%. No American resources should reach Cuba unless they are expressly for the purpose of toppling the Castro family regime.

I dunno about Cuba.

It seems to me that if we can overwhelm them with freedom loving visitors and those who want to help, rather than exploit the Cuban people, they may end up taking back their own country and becoming a strong friend of the United States.

And then we can all go back there for vacation and gamble in their casino's!

I don't think that's the point with this plan. Rather this is a mission to espouse the virtues of socialism. Mel Watt a local congressman in Charlotte went to Cuba a few years ago. He got on the radio and went on and on about how great Cuba is, and how wonderful they were treated by Fidel. They were invited to Fidel's home and "it had just such a wonderful view, and the food was fantastic", "Fidel is an intellectual and was pround of the work that was being done with America's health care." He went with the Black Caucus.

Unfortunately any information that comes out of Cuba is very unscientific and we have to accept the facts we are given without a critical eye. We must simply believe them.

If we hear that Cuba's life expectancy is 65, how do we know that's true? There isn't anyone other than Cuba to get those numbers from.

It's possible if we get more people in there, even socialism loving people, that they will not be blinded by their ideology but instead will be slapped across the face with the reality of the situation down in Cuba. They'll see the abject poverty, the pain and the hunger of it's citizenry, and they will report truthfully what they see.

And what i'm saying is, it might be worth it to open up Cuba and get those people some help if we can count on some honest information coming out of there.

Will they see the jailed journalist and political prisoners with life sentences. Over 100,000 political prisoners. That's one of the main reasons for our embargo. No what Cuba needs are two cruise missiles. One for Fidel and one for Raul.

Ultimate fighter's challenge to pummel the president gets him suspended from his school job

Mr Volkmann was not arrested and he was not charged, but on Monday he was told to report to the school district’s human resources department.

i dont mind the fact that the SS looked into this (although it is pretty ridiculous, but its good to hear that they take any threat to the president serious..or I should say, any threat to president obama serious, as it wasn't clear if they were serious under GWB with all the "kill bush" slogans etc...)

anyways, what gets me is how the school can suspend him for this...is it legal to do so? it IS his opinion (that the president is an "idiot")...or do you think they are suspending him for his suggestion to fight the president?

small story but thought provoking...if this was the ONLY fight on a UFC card I bet you they would get higher viewership than any other fight in history! LOL

Sorry but without your embargo the people of Cuba would get rid of Castro and consortia much faster.
And im sure the embargo is the best gift that the Us could give Castro.
