Any ideas on why all the volume today?

Small financials have been taking turns lately with the mutual fund buyers, AFN le stock du jour... plus decent fundamentals (for a bank)

I like this one, been tracking it all week, played it once already for a 10-12% day trade. Just got in again at 1.07, looking to clear 1.20 today if not will give it a few days to get a little higher. Missed the low bounce, got the 'second chance dip'

this got a great bounce on Friday...what's your opinion of Monday?

I got out of everything Friday AM on a green moment and I'm looking to get into some day or swing trades Monday.

Play both this and FBC?
Yeah, I got back into both of these Friday, sold AFN but not on the highest rush of the day (sold in the 1.10s). Still have my FBC from 1.05, still not sure how much I will hold for a bigger bump up but will sell some in the 1.25-1.33 range. As for AFN, will look to get back in so long as the market and/or financial sector don't break down too hard - ergo, I might not get back in Monday, it depends more on the markets and AFN's chart than anything. Might need to be patient getting back in AFN, but will want 1.04-1.12 for an entry probably... looking for 15-20% gainers on AFN. Also watching AMFI and FMBI for similar quick hits.

Thanks for the info.

I got out of FBC on Fri at 1.06 for $700 profit. I'm still pissed at my ISP. Got out of everything actually on Fri on the rare green moments to preserve the gains I had. The NASDAQ wasn't going to let the others run. Not much more I could do. There were trades out there but I hadn't been able to research anything for 2 days so I had no idea where they were. I start each day with a game plan and without research I don't have one.

Here's to a green week next week

Bulls: Alesco Financial Inc. (Public, NYSE:AFN)

Emphasising around a 15% trade range from the average 5-7%.
This has induced short, mid and long term attraction with scope to grow.
My forecast is bulls are running on this and advice is to get in before $2.
Possibly achieved for a month.

Good Luck

Rando,

If you're watching this thread still, I got in yesterday at 1.05. I could see it kept bouncing off of 1.04 and the volume was up so I grabbed some. Pretty good volume today and it is up 10% at 1.17.

Do you think this has any legs to it?

Hit .81 which is it's several month strong support today, see if it holds... Could bounce a few cents.

Then again the company has $89 million in cash with $3.41 billion in debt, this could be headed to 0 alongside FRP, CHB, and TMR.

I'm not getting in since it hit 0.75 AH, just a stock to watch.

I bought today at .73 -- $600.

Not a huge position, don't have a lot of cash....
Also the risk factor I'm taking based on -- seems unreasonably high -- on the companies default risk... This is iffy, hope I don't pull another FRP here.

Q3 earnings Monday and this company is discussing split and upcoming vote on a merger, looks above average to me.

I should post about my picks earlier so people can offer their input. I'll make a better point of doing this next time.
