Let me ask you something. You ever watch CNBC, read the Journal, bloomberg, etc. They all got picks. You trying to tell me you ignore them all, or do you hear what they have to say and then check out the numbers? Because if someone tells me all they have to do is get a stock screener, put in the numbers and then pick based on TA and fundamentals, they are a liar.

That's not true. That's how Nicolas Darvas did it and he made $2 million in 18 months.

In fact he made it a point to IGNORE all news/rumors. He never even read the paper.

If E*Trade can stave off bankruptcy and destruction of shareholder equity through a strategic restructuring then we could possibly see E*Trade back to the $5 range next December and $10 by 2010. So a 2 year 10 bagger.
Etrade avoiding bankruptcy is pretty much dependent on their TARP applications being approved. Is there even any TARP money left? That question is only half joking.

There are a few companies I feel could be huge gainers in 2009, but one stands ahead of all the rest for me. AMD is primed for big gains in 09. AMD is not going anywhere. People are always going to need CPU's. They purchased ATI, and ATI has surpassed NVIDIA in my opinion to become the dominant force in the video card market. AMD management has announced downsizing of about 600 employees or about 3.7% of it's workforce. This is a fairly large number. This bad news for the employees, but good news for investors. It goes to show that the management at AMD is not going to let things spiral out of control and have the backbone to make tough decisions like this. Knowing a company has good management is invaluable information when investing in any company.

oh thanks now I feel dumb.
Well lets just call this a contest then. But see what I did, I created a thread, and now I found out about Nicolas Darvas.

Nope ... We should all sit in a bubble and all "DD" (if there even is such a thing) needs to be done without any sort of communication between traders.

Any attempt to share ideas, knowledge, wisdom, or thoughts will be considered being a "lazy ass bastard"

FIRST DAY OF THE YEAR WINNER

Semipro11 's stock pick RCCH, RCC Holdings went up 50% today, largest for the first day of the year, in the stocks submitted for this thread.

Mxdave's TA, Travelcenters Of America, is up 22%, the most for a stock over 2 dollars.

From now on I'll only update monthly.
