The only argument that has ever been tried is: "Nobody
knows for sure what the framers of the constitution meant".
That is absolute BS because the Federalist Papers were
written for that expressed purpose. The sentiments of Thomas
Jefferson's famous quote about the second amendment not
being used until they try to take it away IS the whole reason
for our ARMS rights.

But I agree, the PIGS will try.

I just heard that the Dems are discussing apprehending your 401K and putting it in the Social Security Trust Fund and giving payments based on what they think is fair. It is all part of wealth re-distribution. You will pay if Barack Obama wins....one way or the other.

I wouldn't doubt that except for the Social Security Trust Fund part....

Like Al Gore's famous LOCK BOX that he was going to protect our
Social Security, It does NOT exist. ALL FUNDS go into the general
accounting. NO seperate accounts exist, just like accountability
of Congress to oversee it, JUST LIKE CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT
ON FANNIE & FREDDIE.

The government is the ONLY entity that can legally show up at
your front door with guns and take what they want.

I know that the Lock Box doesn't exist. They are talking about an accounting transaction that would somewhat "fix" the SS shortfall. I am just repeating the way the Democrats talk. They talk like there really is a SS account and a lock box and all that crap so they can fool the public into believing them.

So is there a Weapons of Mass Destruction lock box? I seem to recall a certain party telling us crap about Iraq so they can fool the public into believing them.

Ok, I quickly scanned the posts in this thread...

My comments:

1) you people need to stop trying to act like obama's slip up of saying 57 states such a big deal. He is obviously intelligent if he went to Harvard.

2) I don't believe Palin is qualified to lead our nation. BUTTTT, I have watched her debate and other material, and I think she is an intelligent woman, so I hate seeing stupid remarks like " I bet she doesn't know where the middle east is on a map."

3) I think Obama might be in for a surprise... my mother volunteered this week at a republican campaign center, and was making phone calls. She said quite a few people said they were registered democrats voting Mccain.

4) I'm not sure about recent polls, but I remember seeing one poll in a well-known newpaper, that showed Obama up with a 8 point lead.... Too bad underneath the poll it said they only polled 1,800 ppl... So I don't think any polling under a million people that aren't from different states and of different ethnicity and different incomes can be taken as an accurate reflection of who's going to get the most votes.

Did you watch the VP debate? It was the most scripted, boring debate ever. All it was was soundbites back and forth. They didn't talk about each other. What has Palin said that makes you think she is the least bit intelligent on foreign affairs, economic affairs and everything in between?

This is a person that has stated over and over before she was selected VP she didn't even know what the role of the VP was. This is a person that has fumbled around aimlessly trying to answer a simple question: What makes you qualified to be Vice President and why the hell does you being able to see an unpopulated mountain in Russia give you experience?

She took 6 years to get a journalism degree. She once stated that she could do whatever she wanted to as a Mayor until the courts told her to stop.

She remind me of George Bush in 2000. A governor with no experience. Look where Bush got us.

Not sure what you are referring to, but if you are saying there were no weapons of mass destruction you are wrong.

Polls are a funny thing. Mostly in what is NOT told about them.

Some Polls track refusals to answer.
None of them track a new phenomena - Answering machine
and/or Caller ID monitoring. It has gotten so bad, Pollsters
are doing a minimum of two techniques.
  1. Computers to call numbers and find out when the house is occupied. You pick up - no announcement just dead air. Dumb idea, they block Caller ID so it trumps itself.
  2. Autodialing machines that connect to a pollster if a handset is lifted but not an answering Machine. Telltale signs are a short pause before you are connected... I hang up.
2004 - Kerry was SUPPOSED to win because the pollsters
SWORE by their 3% accuracy when they predicted Kerry
by 7%. It was about 2% - Bush.

Results of this election could PISS OFF an aweful lot of
people on one side..... or the other.

Obviously, I'm waiting for you to show me the weapons that were in Iraq that presented a danger to our National Security.

please read what I said...I DON'T believe she is suitable as a leader of our nation.

About her intelligence, and about Obama's ties to "terrorists", I think both Republicans and Democrats nitpick and exaggerate and blow up any little thing possible.

Democrats are AFRAID to compare Obama to McCain so they
continually pull up Palin.

There's just no comparison. Biden warned this week that
Obama's youth and inexperience will invite a crisis -- indeed
a crisis "generated" precisely to test him. Can you be serious
about national security and vote on Nov. 4 to invite that test?

And how will he pass it? Well, how has he fared on the only
two significant foreign policy tests he has faced since he's
been in the Senate? The first was the surge. Obama failed
spectacularly. He not only opposed it. He tried to denigrate
it, stop it and, finally, deny its success.

The second test was Georgia, to which Obama responded
instinctively with evenhanded moral equivalence, urging
restraint on both sides. McCain did not have to consult his
advisers to instantly identify the aggressor.

Today's economic crisis, like every other in our history, will
in time pass. But the barbarians will still be at the gates.
Whom do you want on the parapet? I'm for the guy who
can tell the lion from the lamb.
