Gold Producers - Canadian Ones To Watch

Been doing a little research and wanted to start a thread we can use to help us determine what companies are the best to own right now. I hope there isn't already a thread on this. I did search, but came up with nothing. The following companies are producing gold or will be by years end or early next year (2009). Feel free to add yours.

WDO.TO*** - .65 - John Embry - Wesdome generated record revenues of $20.7 million for the second quarter, 2008, compared to $11.5 million in the second quarter of 2007. YTD Revenue increased to $37.0 million from $24.4 million in 2007. Quarterly gold sales averaged $913 per ounce compared to $753 per ounce in 2007. YTD realized gold prices averaged $921 per ounce compared to $760 per ounce in 2007.

LSG.TO* - .89 - near term producer - Embry - Tony Makuch, President
and CEO of Lake Shore Gold, commented: "At the mid-point of
the year, we are pleased with our progress and are on track
to be producing gold from Timmins West by early 2009

AXM.V - Embry - They have four million ounces in the Central African Republic. It was at $1.40 and is now down to 15 cents. You’re buying the people because they discovered the Geita Mine, now in production in Tanzania, which is one of the more successful mines in Africa. (CAREFUL) We are extremely disappointed that the impact of the Amending Decree will be to delay our lawful access to the iron belt contained in the Topa Iron discovery located within the Bambari 1 and 2 permits." - Worth buying some, but not alot (my statement)

MAI.TO** - Minera Andes - .91 - copper/gold - Rob McEwen put a lot of money into Minera and they have a solid asset in South America. It remains a solid company. Minera Andes announces second quarter gold/silver sales at the San Jose mine reaches $63.7 million. San José project has produced gross sales of approximately $74.6 million in gold and silver, mostly from the last three quarters.

MTO.V - Metanor Resources - .45 - Commercial Production Begins: Metanor-North Americas Newest Gold Producer

GOZ.V - Gold Ore Resources - .19 - During September gold production at the Bjorkdal Mine increased significantly from previous months. A total of 2,692 ounces of gold were produced, which equates to an annualized production rate of 32,304 ounces.

AMC.TO - Alexis Minerals - .32 - Alexis Announces Official Opening of Lac Herbin Mine: Higher Than Expected Production Grades

NXG/NGX.TO - Northgate Minerals - .85 - Northgate Minerals Corporation is a mid-tier gold and copper producer with mining operations, development projects and exploration properties in Canada and Australia. The company is forecasting 385,000 ounces of unhedged gold production in 2008 and is targeting growth through further acquisition opportunities in stable mining jurisdictions around the world. (255M outstanding shares)

This was not a complete list by any stretch. It was simply a starting point of junior producers that are beaten down because of current market conditions.
I checked out GBS and see that they have alot of debt and operating costs are high. I am not saying they are not good for a flip. The chart does look primed. Currently, they are trying to renegotiate the debt and they may be delisted from the TSX. There has to be a reason a gold producer is beaten down to .01 per share after it was up to 1.85 for a 52 wk high.
