We Are All Going To Die in a Couple Days - Stupid Scientists

Watch this.

These stupid scientists are going to create a black hole in a couple weeks and we are all FUBAR.

If scientists are mounting an effort to stop this device from being turned on, that is enough for me to say "WTF are the idiots running this machine thinking?"

Ahh...CERN....we'll find out.....just like Jurrasic Park--what could go wrong..

They're only recreating the big bang...what's your problem?...chill out..

I mean...ok, if humanity had a history of stumbling head first into scientific territory it doesn't fully understand, and thus creating negative consequences, then I'd say maybe be worried. But we all know that isn't the case... Now excuse me while I go drink out of my #7 water bottle.

Oh noes terrists'! Bush should declare war on CERN before the end of his term. But no we're not going to die in a couple of days that's foolish talk. Everyone knows the end of the world is in 2012

Well, if we all die, at least we won't have to suffer through another four years of Republican mandates.

Seriously though, this is frightening. An education in science or technology without philosophy or religion is a very dangerous thing. That's why I have such a big problem with MIT and most everyone who graduates from there.

I had read about it months ago, but the video reminded me how stupid scientists can be.

I think next they should find out what happens if they put the Ebola Virus in all the worlds drinking water. That would be pretty neat right? lol

Well...from Jurassic Park--the point made there is Scientists are often so eager to see if they can do something, they never stop to think if they should...

Hey..if they blow us up or manage to kill off the population in some crazy malfunction--at least I can sleep in...

You really think if they thought that was what would happen they'd turn this thing on? Have you even read the safety reports?

Who among us is qualified to have any opinion on the safety of the Large Hadron Collider anyways?

never trust a scientist with 8 bil and a toolkit.

Even if a micro sized black hole materializes and starts to expand exponentially, sucking up small things, it will take months or years for it to reach the size to swallow up big things, like cars . Small cars at first, Hummers should be OK for a while. Science will have plenty of time to reverse it , they'll figure out a way

Oppenhiemer was astounded at the amount of destruction the first atomic bomb did--it greatly exceeded their expectations for how big the bang would be for the mass and size--they greatly underestimated its destructive power.. Additionally--there was even a concern that was acknowledged among his own scientists working on the Project of the possibility that the detonation would set fire to the upper atmosphere of the planet.. Those were some concerns and the bomb exceeded their predictions and did far worse then they could have imagined--you think they would have done it had they known for sure how it would go?

Additionally during a basic start up test of the equipment at the collider some of the super conducting magnets failed under the basic stress of a partial test back in the spring...and it set them back a couple of months as they had to re-figure out the problem. Those scientists who built and designed this for these experiments did the math and calculations for the equipment too--and they were wrong and underestimated the forces--so you HAVE to ask the question--if they got that wrong--what else did they get wrong??

I doubt they will blow up the world or anything will really be freaky and happen--I mean they are merely smashing a couple of Atoms together at the speed of light--like the folks on the Manhatten Project first thought--how much damage can a couple of Atoms do.. But the point is--who knows exactly what will happen...and how can ANY safety report for such a financially burdened project be trusted as flawless to have considered every possible aspect and the true risk factors without having done a ton of testing with the thing yet. Its not like inexperienced Walmart working NUTJOBS are raising the concern enough to file lawsuits in two countries to halt the experiment until more testing & research can be done--they are bretheren fellow scientists who also have huge professional educations and knowledge are the ones trying to raise concern...

We'll see what happens... It will either be a 17mile super-colliding success or a waste of billions and billions of dollars on a giant donut...

The world will NOT be destroyed , I am very confident on that. It's not time for that to happen. To much still to come.

Ok, but if it does, I am so saying I told you so!

Well they turned it on,....we're still here...guess I have to go to work dammit...

But just remember---they turned it on--they have not yet begun to smash them atoms full bore yet...more is pending.

I died when they turned it on. Did anyone else die too?
