Pier 1 Imports, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, operates as a specialty retailer of imported decorative home furnishings, gifts, and related items in the United States and Canada. Its stores offer furniture, wicker, decorative home furnishings, dining and kitchen goods, epicurean products, bath and bedding accessories, candles, and other specialty items for the home. The company's decorative accessories include wood accessories, lamps, vases, dried and artificial flowers, baskets, wall decorations, ceramics, dinnerware, bath and fragrance products, candles, bedding, epicurean products, and seasonal and gift items. Its furniture products comprise furniture and furniture cushions to be used on patios, and in living, dining, kitchen, bedroom, and sunrooms. As of March 1, 2008, the company operated 1,117 stores under Pier 1 Imports name. Pier 1 Imports, Inc. also operates in Mexico and Puerto Rico. The company was founded in 1970 and is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas

PIR continuing the run from Friday (12/12). I'm thinking that a break above 0.60 will cause a nice run to $0.90 - 1.30 range???

What do you guys think?

This is old news but I'd thought I'd post it to show the fear for Pier 1 right now. It's a shame too. I LOVE shopping at Pier 1. Plus, they always have hot chicks working there...

Pier 1 Imports to cut jobs, might close 125 stores

Decorative home furnishings retailer Pier 1 Imports -- which has three stores in Albuquerque -- says it plans to cut 10 percent of its full-time positions and might close up to 125 stores, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Fort Worth, Texas-based Pier 1 Imports (NYSE: PIR) indicated that staff reductions will occur at its corporate headquarters, at one distribution center to be shuttered in St. Charles, Ill., and within field administration areas.

If negotiations to reduce rental rates at certain locations fail, Pier 1 said the result could be the shuttering of 125 underperforming stores.

It did not say which stores would be closed or whether any of its Albuquerque outlets are likely to be targeted.

As a result of cost-cutting measures already under way, Pier 1 expects to incur $5 million in expenses tied to severance packages and employee outplacement services.

Where do you guys find the AH quotes? I use scottrade which lets me enter orders AH, but the console is showing it at .16.
