13 hours 3 minutes ago - DMeurope.com via Comtex
Domestic brands are increasing their market share on the Chinese mobile handset market while foreign brands see their market share slip. Samsung, which leads the market with a 22 percent share, started last year with a 26 percent share of the market, according to Analysys International. Number two Nokia saw its market share slip from 18 percent in Q1 2011 to 15 percent in Q4. However, local brand Huawei increased its market share from 6 to 13 percent, while ZTE grew from 6 to 11 percent, and Lenovo saw its market share go up from 5 to 7 percent. LG was number six in Q1 with a 4 percent share but was displaced by Apple which had a 6 percent share in Q4. Exceptions were Motorola, which grew its market share from 2 to 5 percent while local brand Coolpad saw its market share remain at 4 percent.

'Nokia to offer Navteq Map content to MB International'
13 hours 7 minutes ago - DMeurope.com via Comtex
Nokia's Location & Commerce business has established a location content reseller agreement with geomarketing data specialist Michael Bauer International. The company will now be able to provide complementary, detailed topographical data which can be overlaid on its products to produce enhanced spatial visualisation. Covering the EMEA and APAC regions, the deal includes the Navteq Map and all relevant location content such as Point Addressing, Speed Limits, Postal Code Points and Navteq Transport - which is focused on providing navigable attributes for large vehicles. MB International's focus is currently on the retail market which has been a forerunner in the utilisation of geomarketing data.

Nokia wont be putting out any real good news right off that bat, firstly they still have to get people to come to Window Phone, and since they seem to be giving phones away to get people to come to them, now they just have to hope that more people see the value in their product and start buying their phone. I am betting in the long term they will see some nice profits if their phones catch on.

From the few readings I have done it seems they are selling pretty nicely, so hopefully Nokia makes a bit of a come back, it is just going to be very difficult obviously to beat out Android and iOS, and with Blackberry still somehow holding on to the few supporters they have left.

Definitely going to be watching Nokia for some trades though.

Their new phone is sexy looking, but I think Windows OS and Nokia just showed up to late to the mobile game.

in NOK 4 calls July.. .. after reviewing sheets they seem way under valued and frankly have massive patients if they want to sell off the biz.

how slow argh.. kinda reminds me of the AOL symdrome.. paitents what paitents .. undervalued.. naw lol.

dumped the calls as it broke weekly support today. Will revisit in the high 2s.

what do you guys think on  this stock?

In short, Overreaction...Nokia is NOT Rimm

Microsoft will not let Nokia fail. They know how important mobile phones will continue to be in the next few years, so they are determined to grab some market share

Many people said the same thing when andorid came out. ...you can't beat BB, ios, etc. and look at it now.

Windows Phone will only continue to improve and people will eventually give it a try.

Nokia hardware design will be crucial for WP7 to differentiate itself from the pack.

SO, I think the next earnings will beat the estimates.

^^^^ Yeah...disregard post above me lol.

I am out...

Good luck to anyone hoping for a buy out.

Oh and I looked on the Financial statements of RIMM Vs. NOK and all ratios were better for RIMM. I am staying out of both though.

Wow, just terrible for NOK, I dont think there will be 1 long left in here soon.

chart.ashx?t=NOK&ty=c&ta=1&p=d&s=l

  • Q2's non-IFRS Devices & Services operating margin is now expected to be below Q1's -3% level versus prior expectations of "similar to or below" that Q1 level.
  • The source of the trouble is "competitive industry dynamics."
  • Nokia will cut 10,000 jobs by the end of 2013.
  • The company will eliminate certain research, development, and manufacturing operations.
  • A number of key executives from the Nokia Leadership Team will step down, including the chief marketing officer and executive vice president of Mobile Phones.

I am looking for a position after earnings release on July 19th...Very tempting!

I think 1,90 & 1,70 is a good area to buy the stock ,,, i can see 3$ before the end of this year if they starting to use android

Is anyone keeping a watch on this? With the release of Win8 phone, I can't help but to keep a close look for a turnaround play..
