Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war

Now that the Clinton campaign is talking about exit dates, and damn near everyone has dubbed Obama the presumptive nominee, it's time for the fun to start...

Sooo...the candidates get to claim the high ground, while the NC's throw the poo poo pattys....

Both Obama and McCain have repeatedly said they will run civil, respectable campaigns, that don't resort to excessive negativity....Can I short the chances of that happening?

Never a dull moment around here...

All I can say is I feel sorry for Mcain, he's in a tough place running against either a Woman or African American. Any attempt to point out a weakness of the opposition will result in the "minority-card" being played. Obama is in a tough place too, he ran his whole campaign on he notion of being a new breed of politician who wouldn't stoop to the standards of old, he's already made moves that suggest otherwise.

I'd really have a lot of respect for both of them (as humans, not politically) if they COULD run against each-other without tasteless attacks towards each-other. I doubt it will last long. Obama has already been exposed as another routine politician who will say whatever is necessary to appease the masses. Mcain doesn't even belong in the republican party, he's the republicrat of the century. It's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.

*semi-socialism

That's why we have the parties this election. They run the attack ads so the candidates don't have to. I really think they'll stick to their word at least somewhat and try to debate the issues. We'll see if it works out, though.

It seems that Obama and McCain would both run as independents if anyone thought they could be elected as such. History has shown that it is possible, but it's much more difficult and unlikely. They do want to actually win, after all.

Unless this guy is lying....

Lawrence O’Donnell, Emmy-Award winning producer of The West Wing and a contributor to the Huffington post, said Friday that a senior Clinton campaign official told him the New York Senator will be leaving the race by June 15 with a clear exit strategy.

O’Donnel said the senior campaign official told him they will continue on through the “final votes on June 3,” during which Clinton and Obama are expected to split the states.

After that point, O’Donnell said, the Clinton campaign “will take no more than a week to make their case to superdelegates and as you know, the superdelegates have absolutely no chance of moving over to Hillary Clinton in a week.”

Actually, I don't believe a word that O'Donnell says. The guys truely an angry man and a disgrace to his profession.

However, even a broken clock is right twice a day so maybe he's got some inside information that the rest of us don't have.

I think more than likely though he is an Obama supporter who is trying his hardest to push Clinton out of the race and he thinks starting rumors like this will help Obama win more votes in the next couple of elections.

In any case, i'm always skeptical of supposed "news" stories where no one names any names. There's too much gossip these days being reported as news.

True indeed... it is questionable, and may be false. It does seem, however, that across the board, acceptance of Hillary's defeat is stronger than ever after IN and NC.

I think this is a somewhat more trustable tell-tale sign:

As noted yesterday, Rasmussen Reports will stop tracking the Democratic race in the near future to focus exclusively on the Obama-McCain match-up.

Nick,

I'm trying to decide which name to write in when I vote... Colberts or yours. You currently have the edge over Colbert

Anyone that listens to They Might Be Giants is a step above the rest!!!

awe well thank ya...although to my supporters, I must regretfully inform you all that I'm dropping out of this year's presidential race. Thanks to everybody who particpated in the body-paint social issue awareness fundraisers...but apparently somebody had the bright idea to require presidential candidates to be at least 35....who knew? Don't worry though.... we'll be back in 2016!..that is assuming the mayans weren't right about 2012. I'm asking all my supporters to get behind Steven Colbert..now...wait...wait a minute.... I know, we've had our differences. There's been some nasty words thrown by boths sides in this hotly contested primary season...as well as some taco ingredients thrown, but at the end of the day Colbert represents our nation's next best hope for humor over progress. Bless you all...
