Penny stocks - The anatomy of a pump and dump

We see at least 3-4 horrific penny stock pump and dumps every year. Too many investors get sucked into these.

Get in early, take you profits and run.

Learn to spot the patterns and avoid the drama:

This video is dedicated to all the mods at HSM that help make this place the rockin site that it is!

For reference, if anybody wants it

^ That's hilarious and yet so true. I especially like where you have the two shooting each other and the mods have to step in as they fight about who pumped and who did not and how they are going to hold thier shares because this one will come back, it is just too low at these levels. lol

One thing you forgot though is the part where they make thread after thread (CSHD, clearing my throat) where they discuss mindless ramblings about how they were going to be rich and how some joker named rufus should be in jail by now, and what the weather is like right now, until they have 4,000 posts all about one penny stock, etc....

Edit:
Cults are usually associated with koolaid, in the sense that the cult leader will make his followers drink the koolaid which is poisoned, resulting in their deaths.

The roots of this concept come from the JonesTown cult http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonestown

With regards to the markets, a cult stock is one where a group of investors are so blinded or convinced by the promise some stock has, they ignore the warning signs and "drink the koolaid".

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!! That makes so much more sense. I knew about the Jones Town cult as well as the whole poisoned punch, I just didn't make the connection.
Cheers to you!

StockJock-e,

What happened to the video? Says it's no longer available when you try to play it.

Kismet,

Ah, you probably played it before so you have it in one of your temp files. I went to YouTube. Can't find it on that site.

If it's still there, maybe StockJock-e can provide the link to it on YouTube.
