Anything that can be opened on a computer can be downloaded; the question becomes the legality and issues of finding and downloading it.

I'm still with another broker but i registered with TOS just for the free software. I wanted to see what all the hype was about.
But anyway i finallly got it downloaded using dailup and thought i was ready to go but i keep getting this error when i try to open the program on my desktop
Evidently Java and the prophetcharts arent getting along

I do not know what your error is but I am sure if you contact their support they will help you out very quickly. FYI trying to use TOS' platform on dialup with a high refresh rate on quotes is not going to work very well at all. Plus when you don't have a funded account the quotes are delayed...

TOS practice accounts are real time. . . or at least mine was before I signed up for a full account.

Jym, I got the TOS account also to test there charts. My prob is I havent funded it so all my trendlines dont save. But as in your case I was never asked to download the software I simply sign in, with scottrade I have it in my programs. I find TOS great but confusing so I'm not sure if I will fund it or not. Hoping to learn options but quite frankly so darn confusing, I am trying the free money with TOS.

Trendlines stay on the chart no matter what

Once you get used to TOS there's no turning back... I highly recommend the training center (http://mediaserver.thinkorswim.com/s...ingcenter.html) if you are confused by any parts of the platform.

Yeah i've been playing around with the papermoney stuff since Monday. Surprisingly the refresh has not been a problem. I'm sure it may not be quite as quick as on a faster connection but it doesnt freeze up the page like i was afraid of.
And yeah those quotes are on a 20 delay if your account isnt funded i believe but they trade like they're in real time for the practice

But yeah I'm just going to stick with tradeking.com and use freestockcharts.com for charting until i move and get high speed.
One night when i get bored enough I'm going to download some more Java stuff and see if that helps out the charts any. They still dont work on the desktop version or on the websitebased trading.

Does anyone have some ideas on what i should put on my work info, net worth, liquid worth, and experience to get approved for level 2 (preferably 3) options with TOS?

I was honest with etrade and only got useless level 1. Saying i was a student with net annual income 0-14,999, liquid worth 0-14,999, and net worth of 0-25,000 and one year of stock trading experience. (oh and i cant apply again for 90 days)

So i've been playin the paper money on tos and have come to like the platform a lot and am thinking i'd like to transfer.

Im thinking i should change my employment to self employed, leave annual income and liquid worth and up net worth to 25-50,000. oh and pretended i've traded options for a year.

Any input?

The info requested is really for your own safety.

They dont want some rookie firing off naked calls and getting himself wiped out.

If you want to trade options, thinkorswim is definitely the best way to go because they match any other broekrs commission rates for options.

I'm from Israel and got this offer through an Israeli broker affiliated with TOS:

0.1 cent per share, minimum 3$
OR
7.95 flat

That's considerably better than the standard and I'm thinking about opening an account.

Yay\nay?
