In efforts to standardize threads and make them easier to find through searches, we ask that you please adopt the following format to creating new threads.
Please note that the [chart] tags only work for US stocks, so you will have to manually insert chart source code from sites like bigcharts that have Canadian stocks.
Firstly make sure there is no existing thread on the stock. If there is, please use the existing thread.
For new threads:
Title:
Ticker - Company name (exchange optional)
Example:
RIM - Research In Motion (TSX)
(The problem has been that if you posted it as RIM.t, it will not be found if somebody searches for "RIM")
First post of thread:
Please insert a chart from bigcharts and include a brief company description. The reason for this is that the first post is what everybody sees upon clicking a thread. Having the first post say something like "hey, its up what do you think?" does not help anybody today, next week, or 1yr from now. A general first post with a chart and company profile is more helpful.
