are you worried about online retailors like amazon eroding walmarts business in the future? I know Best Buy is being hit hard by this (although electronics markup is low).
not so much...WMT is so deversified and such high vol and relatively low margin already i think they are safe...if it did come to that it would be much farther down the line...far enough to not bother me...i could more realistcally see the opposite happening first as long as WMT is alowed to keep expanding and growing its product spectrum
No Walmart offers a convenient array of stores within a short drive to dense population, and they offer products at prices so close to online (Amazon) that after shipping and waiting days/weeks to get there, I think the consumer would much prefer the pleasure of seeing and buying. That might change as younger generations age (I hope not though). I think people will always love buying merchandise in store. Walmart, at its worst, would have to downsize. It employs 2+ million people, and if it started hurting at all we would have many other things to be worried about. Just my guess but could go either way, everything is unpredictable.
