Ask yourself if logically you would buy any company that has lost all its equity in the last year and has the US government as the majority holder? What other road happens besides dilution or bankruptcy? I dont understand why anyone thinking taking ownership by the government is good?

People chase all this junk, and think its a good idea. Citigroup will not go double digits anytime soon due to all the dilution and selling of assets but for some reason people think in the back of their mind that it was a $40 stock, so its got to at least get to $15 a share by next year, righttttt?

Fudge it, if you are holding this hoping for whatever you can't look at it or it will drive you nuts. You will go crazy. You had to have known that you wouldn't get a serious return on your money for years if at all. I got a couple hundred just in case shares. I'm willing to risk that money for the potential benefit "IF" it ever turns around.

I will say it was one of my first trades when I was just starting out, would I do it again? Probably not but whats done is done.

Get to $1.75 and let me sell with a free commission and Ill be happy

this is all imo.....
im buying a small amount of a bunch of different companies that were trading in the $40-100 pps, and are just recently now in the pennies to 5 or so. its all speculation, but i strongly believe there will be huge gains over the next 5-10 years. And a lot of money to be made. Now… im not saying they will ever go back to there peaks, but a most will most likely be bigger players again to some extent or another in the future.

The whole point of stocks is "equity" in a company. Fannie, Freddie, Citigroup, GM, etc have all lost all their equity. The only thing holding the share price up is hope and dreams. Why would you bet on that? By the time things "recover" you will have seen it and can get in on later and reduce your risk 1000x from where it is now. FRE honestly has no equity, and is no longer a company, its in government ownership and shouldn't have a stock traded anymore imo. They keep asking for money and the government is only goosing it to keep housing from collapsing and causing muni governments up.

I bought FRE for a quick flip when the bottom fell out of the market but I am still holding as housing is a little more optimistic. I have my profits locked in should the markets blow up again

Up .03 @1.37 and Dow down 46 points
My flipper is holding pretty well as the market has tanked for two running days. Maybe it is due to that the housing market has stabilized and more importantly a amendment that would have forced Freddie and Fannie into receivership was defeated. It will need the market to get back to the 1.60 level but in the mean time it is pushing against the grain. There are not going to be any big gap ups but a steady slow climb is ok by me. . .

Down .01 on average volume @1.37 and Dow down a 162 points

After Hours
Up .02 @1.40
AH HOD 1.41

FRE. FNM.

HI ALL. Some notes on FRE/FNM [bad English, sorry ]

From the chart (only) point of view, it is very interesting the exp.mov.aver.-knot in this quarter (knot = e.m.a.-5/10/20/50).

A real bull-cross of exp.mov.aver.-200, can push the company toward exp.mov.aver.-500 (see chart III e IV) and on 1990-lows as a second target (see minichart V, VI).

Now FNM is more distant from 1990-lows; FRE is better than FNM ???.

Break of dec.09-lows is very dangerous: possible re-tests of july.09 lows.

I M O

Automatic chart in ema-format: price replaced by short term exp.mov.aver. 5/10/20, and some medium-long term exp.mov.aver.

I stopped out today with a small profit. I probably have enough for a nice meal if I don't have desert and hold back on the jack and coke

"Regulators Order Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Plans to Delist from NYSE" CNBC

could get ugly today
can this be a good thing for other lending institutions? or do you think this will drag them down as well
post #2091 of 2168
So I just thought of this while re-reading the news.

I think they are making them delist and move to the OTC because those stocks are not required to post statements on where their money is going. The government can do whatever they want and run them into a bigger debt hole without the public knowing. What a bunch of crap

Had a few hundred shares for long term. Thinking of selling them and putting on watch list now.
