Enickma you got it backwards. satan is the evil one, not God. He is the one you should be mad at if anyone. He is the one who steals , kills and destroys. How? Mainly through deception.

God is a good God.
Devil is a bad devil.
Just talk to somebody that has come out of satanism.
Talk with them about how they got out of it.
Ask them what kind of power it took to break what they were into.

God created everything correct? So he created "Satan" and also God is omnipotent thus if "Satan" continues to be evil it is because God allows this.

So perhaps God isn't evil, but he doesn't seem to mind it.

What an articulate argument and immaculate logic. Well done sir.

Interesting. I don't do those things yet I am not religious, don't believe in an afterlife, and don't believe in God.

Why don't I do these things?

no heaven, no hell, no god, no satan. Just the Earth, you, and time. enjoy while it lasts, stop wasting your time trying to convert others, cause others simply dont care.

Religion is just a concept that some primitive people created thousands of years ago, get over it.

Killing children, commanding men to kill children, doing nothing to prevent the needless death of children. destroying Job's life to prove a point to Satan, Wiping out the entire world, creating women as they are.... evil enough to me...

Every time I see this sort of argument coming from a religious person, I just have to wonder - is this what THEY would do if they lost their belief in God? Seriously, are people like this just seething with the desire to rape, kill and pillage, and are held only in check by the fear that God is watching them and will f' them up? Scary.

We just weathered a major storm here on the houseboats, and all of us helped each other get through it. We helped save a roof, someone else saved our kayak. It was really comforting to be in a community of people that helped each other - and belief in God had nothing to do with it.

Agreed, but he's one hell of a pagan icon. Here is his story...

Jesus was a Jewish carpenter who built merchant stalls for the BCC. (Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce). His dad ran one of the big flea markets and sales were a bit sluggish due to a downturn in the Roman economy. So Jesus's dad, Shlomo had an idea. Let's start a new religion so we have people to sell stuff to. So he recruited Jesus to go off on a ranting raving preaching campaign to piss off the Romans who promptly crucified him.

A couple of weeks before the crucifiction, Shlomo had a large batch of hashish brought down by mule from his partner in Lebanon. He dumped large chunks of it in everyone's well water and started spreading a story about a Messiah being God's son along with all sorts of other nonsense that the local population, in their altered state of consciousness, bought hook, line and sinker.

Voila! Mission accomplished.

Now every Christmas millions upon millions of Christians not only are celebrating the birth of a Jew, they are out in droves buying each other gifts in stores that are mostly owned by Jews. Take a wild guess who owned all the real estate where today's churches now stand?

Not sure if this is a true story or not, but here's a really sweet story about a grieving four year old, her dead dog, and someone in the post office pretending to be God welcoming her dog into Heaven:

http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/tus/487665904.html

Here's what the pretend God had to say:

Dear Meredith,

Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by. Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I am wherever there is love.

Love, God

So I found this all very touching, but it also struck me as the perfect illustration of why we created God and Heaven in the first place. What else are you going to tell a four year old girl who's missing her dog?

Spirit/Soul- Is there any scientific proof that there is such a thing as a soul or spirit? This would then lead us to the question of, where do we go when we die? Is there a Soul holding area where everyone that has died in history will be waiting until the final "Judgement Day"?
Well, I'm sure we would have heard about it if there were proof of such a thing. I don't think we could ever prove the existence of a soul if they did exist, but our knowledge of brain chemistry explains a lot of the phenomena that would otherwise be attributed to having a soul. I'm not sure that we've explained every occurrence like that, but science is a work in progress. I've seen enough to be convinced.

Jesus' Miracles- Are there other writings outside of the current bible that details these miracles? The biggest of these ofcourse is the ressurection.
This leads to ofcourse the next question, Why don't we see miracles like these in our current time?

I have a few more, but this is a good start to the discussion.
I know there were other gospels that got left out. "Deleted scenes" if you will. I don't know what they say, to be honest. I missed that History Channel special. I haven't really researched the topic in enough depth to know if anyone actually talked about and believed in Jesus' miracles at the time.

What I do know is that there were several myths written well before the time of Jesus explaining similar feats. There were also lots of other "prophets" around when and where Jesus was who were doing the same kinds of things. His magic act wasn't very original.
