NYSE:LOW - Lowe`s Companies did doji

Interesting classical pattern. I will try make sell short from this level, if stock will show a potential after doji. The target 30% from year move. smile.gif

Grrr. This morning drop to 31.60 hit my spread stop and got me out. At least hit about 80% profit, but I'd rather have the 245% profit. mad.gif

EDIT: Back in on dip #2 biggrin.gif

LOW.png

I am shocked how they were cruising above $32 last week and dipped this low and out of their channel today. The 4 lines are there are some channels they've been trading in this year. They are now below the lowest channel but that could be a possible cup and handle forming on the 30min to catapult them back into the channel. If markets stabilize and don't go full bear it might be a good time to add long positions on them.

At least my spread expired last week on them!

Whats your opinion on LOW? I've had a few bad weeks in a row so I'm down to the last on my account. If I extrapolate their channel to May exp, I'm seeing a minimum of 33.85 if they don't drop out before then. 32/33 call spreads are carrying a 185% profit margin and 33/34s are carrying a 525% profit margin. I'm thinking about jumping in on the latter if they aren't hugging the bottom channel like they're going to drop

Well I got my earnings beat, but forecast really burned me. Stock looks like a bargain, but I don't know if I will pick up more or not.

Lowe's 1Q Net Up 14% On Warm Weather, Calendar Shift; Lowers Full Year Earnings View
8 hours 29 minutes ago - Dow Jones News

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

Lowe's Cos.' (LOW) fiscal first-quarter earnings rose 14% as a calendar shift and unusually warm weather gave a boost to results, although the home-improvement retailer warned demand for seasonal products slowed toward the end of the quarter.
For the year, the company now expects earnings of $1.73 to $1.83 a share, down from its February forecast for earnings of $1.75 to $1.85 a share. Sales targets, however, were unchanged.
"We continue to maintain a cautious view of the housing and macro-demand environment, and are focused on what we can control," Chief Executive Robert A. Niblock said Monday.
The second-largest home-improvement retailer has been closing stores and reshaping its operations in a bid to boost profits and compete more readily with larger rival Home Depot Inc. (HD), which has been gaining market share for several quarters over Lowe's.
The company on Monday reported that same-store sales for the quarter rose 2.6%, with a 2.7% increase seen in the company's U.S. stores. Home Depot last week reported a 5.8% increase in same-store sales for the latest period, including a 6.1% jump at its U.S. stores.
For the quarter ended May 4, Lowe's reported a profit of $527 million, or 43 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier profit of $461 million, or 34 cents a share.
The latest results included a charge related to staff cuts at the company's headquarters that negatively impacted earnings by a penny a share. In addition, a calendar shift contributed roughly 5 cents a share to earnings growth.
Sales rose 7.9% to $13.15 billion, reflecting a roughly 4% boost from the calendar changes. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of 42 cents a share on $13 billion in sales.
Gross margin narrowed to 34.7% from 35.4%.
