Price action doesnt lie, and price action has been saying since Mid Oct to watch out.

Trying to catch a bottom in a downtrend just doesnt make sense.

Perhaps, but watch FSLR. IT was up $7 and went down to even. I doubled down and expect it to be back at +$7 soon. The solar bull market has been working well. And even AAPL hasn't done all that bad.

i have agreed with you from the start. i was referring to the thread name

but still, even in a non-bull market...you can still make good money on calls/buying stock if you are not partial to a company

The demand for solar will be phenomenal over the next few years. We have companies increasing production capacity 300-500% next year. P/E's of over 100 are not out of line. Just imagine over the next 10 years virtually all buildings and homes could potentially have some kind of solar power system supplementing their current power system. Huge growth + huge growth potential is big.

What worries me about the sector is companies like Nanosolar who potentially have a product that does not use silicon and will be cheaper to produce.

solar power is still not effective enough to be in mainstream. wait until one of these companies come out with an actual efficient solar panel as opposed to the rest. It's one thing to have solar power, but it's another to have it working anywhere near up to snuff.

Solar=momo

Im thinking we'll see a corrective rally on friday. Market always moves with fewest on board.

I agree. People have money now to spend on crap like solar/electric cars/organic food Etc.
Once we enter a resession that will change IMO People will only buy solar if it is cost effective. And oil is bound to drop some sooner or later, I hope.

The stock vs. VIX has to pan out. those are all big names and yes they may return to highs but not in that time frame.

This is a good way to ruin your account.

For those who are unsure, just sit on hands.

let the market play out without you.

there is always money to be made but i suspect most don't have adequate funds to day trade, this don't allow you to make quick moves with multiple strategies.

Oh I know the futures are up today and the open should be green but don't be a sucker for these big names^^^
The market has to give in a little to lure back buyers, but who is selling?
Thats right, the big boys. trade with them not against them.
just like clock work,

Let me guess, Chan, once Lucky's prediction turns out to be correct in January, you'll come back and quote yourself again to gloat some more over how you're right yet again?
So will the markets run up again or tank some more? What do you think Chan?

And I'd be interested to hear you thoughts on resession/depression possibilities Etc.

Well not quite, I'm not gloating, I gave a warning when lucky called for the turn around and it wasn't in Jan. i continued to post charts showing the retracements.
When it took a little bounce i warned again.

You guys have been around for a long time, this is basicly a technical analyst forum. but when they don't listen i must come back and remind.

It's not about me, its about you.

I'm only here to help.

You did your part.
This is why I say we will know who good traders are after/during a bear market or fairly large correction like we're in.

I'm a rookie but it seems to be a matter of being able to fight the permabull mentality and fading the news to survive. Will the market go up in the future...of course it will but that dosen't mean you have to buy and hold surrendering the paper profits. Take that bonus profit money and when we are on sale buy even more shares and yell

And to remember FLAT is a position, sometimes the best position in this type of market unless you are daytrading the volatility.

And now thanks to you I know the VIX is my friend.
Quick question on fibs...so 100% is the peak on an uptrending vehicle, and do you flip that so 100% is at the bottom when in a downtrend?

Thanks again

You never pass up an opportunity to try and bash Chan. Your animosity towards him just oozes out of your posts. I don't know if it's based on jealousy or what but it's pretty damn childish.
