Yah really,

Looking into a longer term hold, the stock should reflect its earnings coming up next quarter etc.

Still a good pick to be in IMO!

Sluggish day, but longterm it looks like a lock. Hopefully we get some good early sales figures on COD4 to give us a nice boost (today being release)

Very few companies can guide conservatively and the market not punish them. ATVI is not one of them. 4Q guidance is what did this company in today.

They said they would have their first ever billion dollar qtr and raised guidance 10%. Not sure how conservative that is, but oh well. Such is the market.

Still a good longer term hold for sure. If next quarter results are as good as predicted, this stock will be rising!

Common ATVI! You can do better
dropped right below the 50dma and it showed that it couldn't pass that line of resistance above those two highs so I am thinking about a short position. Depends on the the quarterly report though, anyone know what it said?
Last quarter was better then expected, next quarter is supposed to be "first billion dollar quarter"...aka best ATVI quarter to date.
wait but that statement was released in the report given tonight? or is that a few days old? thanks

ATVI is finally gonna close with GAINS!

About time considering how well they did on their quarterly!

O, and JJHARRIS - That report was given a few nights ago, Monday Night

Stock is up big premarket....Of course they lowballed their estimates just a few weeks ago just below expectations and got crushed. Now they raised them to way above estimates. Sometimes I wonder if these guys really don't understand the market or if they intentionally wanted the stock to dive.

Bleh. Their low forecast made my calls a few weeks ago almost worthless. I'm still holding a long position, though.

Yeah, I am in the same boat. On the plus side those nearly worthless options will about triple this morning. Another triple and they may get close to even.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) -- Vivendi SA said Sunday that it plans to acquire a controlling stake in Activision Inc. and combine the video game publisher with Vivendi Games in a deal the companies valued at $18.9 billion.

The combination of Santa Monica-based Activision, whose titles include "Guitar Hero," "Call of Duty" and the "Tony Hawk" series, and Vivendi Games, which publishes "Crash Bandicoot" and owns the online role-playing franchise "World of Warcraft," would create the world's largest pure-play online and console game publisher, the companies said.

Under the agreement, shares of Vivendi Games will be converted into 295.3 million new shares of Activision common stock at a price of $27.50 per share, the companies said in a statement.

Vivendi, based in Paris, France, will purchase 62.9 million newly issued shares of Activision common stock at a price of $27.50 per share, giving Vivendi a 52 percent stake in the new company to be called Activision Blizzard.

After the transaction closes, expected in the first half of 2008, Activision Blizzard will launch a $4 billion all-cash tender offer to purchase up to 146.5 million Activision Blizzard common shares at $27.50 each. Vivendi also has agreed to acquire an additional $700 million of newly issued Activision shares, giving Vivendi about a 68 percent stake in Activision Blizzard if the offer is tender offer is fully subscribed.

The offer price is a 24 percent premium to Activision's closing price Friday of $22.15 per share.

Activision Blizzard will continue to operate as a public company traded on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker ATVI.

The merger will provide Activision Blizzard with the most diversified and broadest portfolio of interactive entertainment assets in the industry, according to the statement.
