Co was asked about cost reduction goals. It's difficult to get costs down as apparent steel demand is expected to fall to 1950's levels this year.

With horrible financial information, and downgrades by UBS and S&P with $16-17 targets, is anyone buying put options?

i am thinking about it. just right now i am cautious the rest of the market might pull it up. market is very close to breaking the 8250 and making another leg up. if dow looks to close below 8100 i might go for the puts. i had calls a few days back but dilution didnt help

That is my only concern, if this were a down DOW day, this would be below 25 based on the chart...if this does close around $25, I believe $22 is imenent

yeah thats why i am useing the 8100 level. if dow doesnt hold that it could easily go down to test 7700. x would fall bad. personally i think the dow is headed for new rally highs in the next few days. above 8251.40

I bought some june 25 puts while it was in the high 28's...I am just thinking this will pull back a bit on monday..Anyone think this was a decent move??

Real good call IMO, this market is so over bought right now ("sell in may and go away"), the stock may move up again next week but june 25 is a good bet for a put and especially at this price... I'm looking to pick it up and short it at 30....

I work in an industry tied to manufacturing and steel use and we've been seeing a spike in orders for 2nd and 3rd Quarter. Outlook for Q3 has really been rising.

The home building and construction numbers that were released today were better then expected. Also the government said that construction spending rose 0.3% in March, after a 0.9% decrease in February. Economists were looking for a 1% to 1.5% drop in March. Great news for the steel industry.

Awesome! Too bad I took profits and sold most everything off last week. Had a boat load of CLF and CDE.
