VMW - VMware, Inc - Page 20

It is risky to be buying anything during this correction.  That said, keep an eye on it.  Note the buying range between 111.53 to 117.11 on the 5 year chart.

I just added VMW to my watch list and waiting for an entry point. Take a look at how the EMC insiders are selling EMC and how EMC is aggressively buying VMW.

Quite a nasty slide for VMW, but if/when it bottoms out, this could be a nice one to buy into and/or buy some calls.  Thoughts?

I'm very tempted at $74 to jump in.

VMW - VMware -inc

Hello everyone. New to trading but would this be a good company to start with since price are low?

VMware, Inc. is the provider of virtualization infrastructure solutions utilized by organizations to help transform the way they build, deliver and consume information technology (IT) resources. The Company's solutions enable organizations to aggregate multiple servers, storage infrastructure and networks together into shared pools of capacity that can be allocated dynamically, securely and reliably to applications as needed, increasing hardware utilization and reducing spending. Once created, these internal computing infrastructures, or clouds, can be dynamically linked by its customers to external computing resources that run on a VMware virtualization platform. In 2012, the Company acquired Nicira. In December 2012, the Company launched the Pivotal Initiative with EMC Corporation (EMC), and plan to commit technology, people and programs from both companies focused on Big Data and Cloud Application Platforms.

Weird, I didn't know that there was not a thread for VMW. Well, thanks for opening one.

I did also look at VMW, but I prefer to play it post-earnings.

Virtualization tech is cool but it's not unique to VMW anymore. It's like cloud computing. It's such a crowded space that every IT vendor wants to get into the space. Cloud computing isn't unique to Salesforce or Amazon anymore. So I think VMW has somewhat lost its mojo. If you look at the stock in its 5 year chart, it's on a declining trend.

I'm not so keen in investing in this for long term, I'd rather play it for the dead cat bounce post earnings. I would buy if it drops for 10% on its next earnings.

The thread is here.

Mod: merge with the new one, or delete it :)
