I'm a patient person so this time this will really test my patience. I've started my lab thesis this week so i'll be pretty busy from now on and won't have time to check everyday for a 'day trade' opportunity. My initially intent when i bought in LVS @ 17 was to sell at 20. I don't know how long it'll take for it to get back to 20 from 13, but i'll put this away and make it a 'longterm' investment. As for my MPEL shares it's only down 90cents for me, so I should be able to sell that before LVS.

Another downside to LVS may be an increase in operating costs due to it's construction stop in Macau and what must be a spike in legal and consulting costs to try and get squared away on reducing debt, issuing stocks, rollover debt and IPO costs.

And I would expect increased cost of money used to continue any projects will squeeze profits. This is while some assets sit idle with no return on them. This is a major difference with Wynn who had increased operating costs but they were partly due to projects that will now produce income in the near future.

If your holding keeps some Tums near by. IF that doen't work try some "Gas X", it's the next step up

Seriously TipTop, that is good advice.....better to miss a 10% pop than to catch the blade on another 10-20% drop. I would be much more cautious on LVS than I would on MPEL right now but I'm sure if LVS is down it will translate more or less to MPEL.

Disclosure - I have no position in LVS....

Lmao ... That is about all u can do at this point.

Sorry guys I never saw this coming.

I agree it sucks... Cramer actually mentioned something about the market losing value over the next few days but I didn't expect to see this. Something about it being the end of the fiscal year and the big fund managers wanting to make their portfolios look better. I didn't catch it all I was listening to it in the background.

im going to go out on a limb and say we'll be up about $1 tomorrow. Justification? None what so ever. Just a gut feeling (My last gut feeling bought $17 calls at 1.15 with no stop loss leaving me down over $1600 in 12 hours).

nice bounce off the 100day.... lets hope it rallies into earnings along with the whole sector!

Wow, $6.5M worth sold just after close on that one block. Looks like a fund pulled out or something.

like tip said, sometimes AH activity is not as simple as black and white...

why would they sell right AFTER the bell and not during regular hours,,??? maybe i'm missing something

Saw that big block go through afterhours, came up as a sell for LVS on ToS. Wynn's big block was a buy and MGM's big blocks were sells. As fast as LVS has gone down, all it needs is a good report and the shorts will be covering and blastoff again it goes.

Not sure what you mean. There were 450,000 shares sold in one block. Not completely sure but I would imagine that it took an hour or so to buy-up that block and the sell only registered after it was all bought up which, just so happened to be, at the close. Just a guess though.

Note the comments on Macau FWIW. And, the questions they will be pressing on.

One of my daily DD aides is daytradingstockblog, who had this to say about LVS going into tomorrow:

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) - LVS hasn't been this oversold since the March 2009 lows. The RSI indicator is below 30. I plan to buy the next time the stock breaks through the high of the day. Resistance will be located at $14.38 & $15.

The only thing is that he may have missed the news on earnings tomorrow. Aside from that, this is a pretty sound endorsement of a blazing trade opportunity from someone who is one of the better analysts to put their info out for free, for those who don't know the site.

The first part of July looks oversold but looking at both time frames the biggest trends did follow these two events. I was there during these times and the hedge-funds were just as ruthless then as they are now. That is not saying that it will pop from this level but should the market like the report it has the potential to be the mother of all coverings. The gaming sector needs a big spark to break what has been happening since the overplay of the Macau restrictions. With that said I will be in AH with my finger on the trigger it is just unkown whether I will be buying or selling. Hopefully it will be more cut and dry than WYNN was because the market was all over the place in the early pre market trading. GLTA. . .
