Not to mention, Packer and HO have deep pockets...MPEL is in the vault as I wait patiently for a decent pull back...Where are the shorts when you need them.

He is recovery from brain surgery from what I have read. He's not a kid anymore, and heaven forbid but he does have Lawrence and Pansy to fill his shoes. . .

Melco Crown Entertainment posts wider 2nd-qtr loss on lower revenue, City of Dreams costs

* On Thursday August 6, 2009, 11:12 am EDT

NEW YORK (AP) -- Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd., developer of casinos and resorts in Macau, said Thursday it posted a wider loss in the second quarter as it opened its new City of Dreams property.

The Hong Kong-based company lost $144 million, or 30 cents per American Depositary Share, in the three months that ended in June. A year earlier, Melco lost $5.7 million, or 1 cent per ADS.

City of Dreams was opened on June 1. Aside from its casino, the $2.1 billion City of Dreams has three hotels, Las Vegas-style shows, an upscale shopping mall and restaurants.

Excluding one-time costs for the new opening and items like higher interest, Melco lost 17 cents per ADS, worse than the 13 cent per ADS loss expected from analysts polled by Thomson Reuters.

Revenue dropped 44 percent to $215.8 million from $384.6 million. Analysts had expected $256 million.

Melco's U.S.-traded shares rose 3 cents to $5.91 in late morning trading.

I doubt you will see under 5 unless there is a market meltdown which is always possible. Right now the mid 5's would be attractive and of course if the shorts joined the party it could go lower. The shorts have backed off considerably in the gaming sector but mark my word they are contemplating another strike as they are licking their wounds. . .

Well, I missed the low by 2 cents. What I did was a little risky. I knew the shorts were pushing it down, so I went a market order and pulled the trigger when support showed up. Don't try this at home. I only used 1/2 of my tier 2 buying power, in case the jobs report sinks the market tomorrow and our friends want to bring on the next wave. . .

This is a long-term position you are making here Tip? Or are you still putting in stops tomorrow incase the job reports tomorrow don't make expectations?

cheers.

Yes, I will put a stop on this buy and my original buy is in the vault. If I get taken out, I will regroup and try again. Hopefully market conditions will be good tomorrow. . .

Your thinking of when I bought some time ago. I took profits the next day and then got stopped out on a push down by the shorts. Ranger got in for under 5 but I think he already took his profits.

hahahahahaha, i was saying, since you had a dollar gain on your 5.18 purchase, why didn't you sell, after the earnings came out and weren't too great?

sorry for the confusion, i just read it and it didn't make much sense

You are right, I didn't capitalize on my gain. I am trying to build a base like I did in LVS. It is is all explained a few pages back. It is a little bit of a gamble but I think it will work out.
