The state of SH

SH is such a gong show... a complete circus. I can't believe how much crap gets posted there and how people get away with everything. Personal attacks, immature inbox floods, etc. in addition to the hundreds of "This stock will be worth $3 tomorrow!!" pumping and bashing posts.

It is not well moderated and continually goes downhill. After what happened to Oto with the blogs I wish there were some way HSM could start a blog area.

There are certainly plugins that allow integration of blogs into this forum software (see vBlogetin [sample here] and the older yet tried, tested and true vBjournal [sample]). This would however not only add workload to the site admins, but require moderators for that area as well, unless only certain tried, tested and true posters were allowed to blog. I agree though, SH is quickly turning into RB.

SH is terrible for many reasons. For every good post there are usually 10 bad or useless ones. SH is has too many goofs posting incessant nonsense; every forum has a few bad apples, but at least we kick ours off.
We should all appreciate what we have here @ HSM. I personally want to thank everyone here for continuing to make HSM one of my favorite internet bookmarks.

now they're raiding $plxm at will ... all this bashing though is really GOOD NEWS ... stocks
post #13 of 23
the problem at stock house is that there are obviously people who are paid to bash stocks....

If you think about it, why would someone spend that much time and effort telling people the stock is going to tank in 2 days. It goes on and on. Paid bashing should be illegal and SH should do something about it.

a typical post is as follows:

"Sell now stocks gonna tank on Tuesday, ROFL. Stocks gonna hit 12 cents by the end of the day etc. etc."

Pathetic.

I'm looking at the PLE board and it's 90% garbage. Flooded by other posts like:

Quote:
why should they...why?

people are selling and have been for 3 sessions

for a stock that moves on news, do you really think you will see a new release on friday?

gold is up but outside market events aren't driving plexmar

why is plex down?

will plex be down tomorrow?

will more selling occur? imo of course

we will be in oversold territory when the stock is trading in upper fifties again

imo then and only then will plex be a buy
or the "I am so confident" posts such as:

Quote:
stick around friend, you will soon see, we will talk again and soon.

this time he is right. Every once in a while a blind squirrell finds an acorn.

Watch and learn. mark these words, today.

Well at least it got their attention Oto. Doesn't seem like any complaints to them have.

The thing about SH is it really depends on what stock you are looking at there. The ones that have the most viewers/posters (i.e. PLE or URA etc.) are the ones that attract the worst in terms of pumpers/bashers. However, overall I find lots of useful information posters there. As with any good DD it's good to get input or details from as many sources as possible; you just have to have a good personal filter to weed out the crap.....

Its fine if you find a thread on sh before all the pumpers and bashers get there as you can find good information but I use another couple of sites, silicon investor and investors hub since they are the oldest chat sites on the web and contain a lot of history when looking into the companies and management to find my information but they are moderated so I don't have to weed through the crap..

This is by far my favorite site though..

I find there are two main types of bashers as follows:

One type is the complete looser who has nothing better to do than to go around kicking people when they are down. How people get to this level I am not sure, I assume at one time there were decent posters, but lost a lot of money themselves and find it makes them feel better to knock someone else.

The other type are people who start out asking ligament questions, but gets jumped on by all the pumpers who don’t want to hear anything that is the slight bit negative. He gets slammed and in trying to defend himself gets dragged down into the muck.

I'm glad to hear that Oto. Your blog no doubt increased their draw.
