Yes that is exactly what would happen. Been there done that. Low percentage play.

If you want to go long at the close it would be better to just buy stock.

Too late, maybe a stupid move but I couldn't resist,  in on SSO Jan 45's @ 1.14. Definitely a sell at the open if we're Green. smile.gif

Well it's at an important level, I think it all depends on tommorrow's volume. Or if we get any surprised between now and than good or bad.

This is on top of the 3% down last week.

It also should be noted that when the 1200 support was tested in November it didn't hold.

CNBC reporting the selloff caused by BAC dipping below $5, but when I check my 1 minute chart, the indices started selling off at 3:04, and BAC didn't dip under 5 until 3:05.  Their peddling some misinformation to say the least.  Their problem is they need to have a reason for every little blip, and sometimes there isn't an obvious reason:

Aren't you the one who just said why isn't the VIX up higher than 25? means people aren't rushing to buy protection, and no big moves seen in the near future.

Blue stag, within 1 minute, i'm sure the institutions could see the bid/ask very weak and knowing how their own algorithms work and knowing most people would sell instead of buy seeing $5.00 print, it wasn't too hard to front run that.

I see what your saying, but CNBCs putting it out there like it was THE reason for the market selloff.  Not that I care what they say I don't look to that network for credibility anyway, just putting it out there.

I think you and I both know it's useless listening to CNBC, they could link a panda birth at some zoo to a world rally, and it wouldn't shock me the least.

CNBC definitely has some cheerleaders, and ITT a lot of people have talked smack about 'em...

To the guys where this is their main source of income - what's your preferred market news source?  Is everyone just twitter junkies now?

Yep, CNBC does their best to dumb down any catalyst for any significant market move to their viewers.  Meanwhile, Cramer is on Defcon 1 with his hand on the red trigger last I checked.

I bet the selloff was caused by BAC dipping below $5.00 people in the know probably said we are going to stop the $5.01 market orders and minutes before they stopped them they pulled out of other stuff they held.

Yes i think BAC is a bear trap- Amurica doesn't want their flagship bank to look bad going into Xmas-.......

Pretty sure Washington can't control markets anymore. After shafting the banks with regulations, the bankers and politicians are not getting along too well.

As a politician to be pro banks right now is not going to get you more votes from the people. As fees are increasing and tight credit, the public doesn't like banks either.
