Are you going to wait it out until Tuesday for confirmation or sell on any dip Monday? Friday morning was short covering in many people's opinions as Friday afternoon soon confirmed.

Of course the world hadn't been saved yet based on this weekend's headlines. wink.gif

I'm holding this short for now and we'll see how it plays out tomorrow and Tuesday.  I still think we have a massively red week this week.

Not necessarily, if we close tomorrow at this level it will present the opportunity to push this quite a bit higher. Santa may be coming to town? Sure, everyone knows it's all window dressing for the EOY, but nobody really cares if they are on the right side of the trade.

but highly unlikely for the whle week to be solid green...just cant see it ...not even sure tomorrow can hold it all...maybe most but i think you'll see the highs early on mon...then even the highs of the week sometime tues...

IMF and ECB to offer Italy a 600 billion euro bailout (sources)

The question is not who or where will they find 600 Billion Euro's, it's who is ultimately going to be responsible for the debt? If people are saying Italy is the next Greece, who is the next Italy?

The market usually doesn't go up or down in a straight line. It's time to shake out the shorts again,  I'll give this about 50 points if that much before we head back down.

I agree. Why would this week be any different? Plus, you know what happens whenever we can predict the following days.

US needs a weak dollar, so printing US $ and buying Euro is the answer. The IMF is the US proxy to accomplish it.

Of course there are many votes from many IMF countries that are still needed for this to be accomplished, buy hey!, they need their bonuses.

They can bounce the cat 9 times, but the fact is, it's still dead. laughing.gif

The part that gets me is that these bailouts only further guarantee crisis, it is too bad the media will simply regurgitate the news as instructed and most will hail their leaders for bringing salvation, when in the end most of us know they are just dooming their zone to a fate much like the course the US is 3 yrs further into. It would be funny if it wasn't so damaging.

So far ES lows tonight are holding above Friday's highs, set in the first hour, outside of some trading in the first ten minutes. Levels worth watching overnight for sure, for signs of further strength, or indecision beyond the pricing in that has already occurred.

We likely found a range here for overnight trading on the /ES between the 50% and 61.8% fib levels from the Oct lows to highs for now.  Curious to see if we breach these levels at the NYSE open via short covering.

The "source" contacted an Italian newspaper? Has anyone seen it being reported on the WSJ, NYT or FT yet?
