XOM - Exxon Mobil - Page 37

I've noticed XOM is really lagging compared to the overall markets
Is today's rally in commodities a good opportunity to exit my position or is it the start of a larger rally in the energy stocks?

Gas prices are a slow grind. Usually exxon rises Q2 till earnings report the first week of july. Always sell before july, should be good for a while.

this stock has been one of my largest holdings for awhile and ive lost so much potential profits by not moving this money into somewhere else. still debating dumping this and swing trading LVS, F, and C.

do you guys think this will be a good quarter for XOM as it usually is or should i bail as like probably should have a last year?

Depends on your investment style. You shouldn't have been expecting volatile price movements with XOM. There are certainly better stocks for trading steep fluctuations in price. If you have a good buy in price with XOM, I would at least hold on to half the position. (that is just my opinion because I think XOM is a good long term hold.)

What are some good examples of stocks with steep fluctuation? I'm looking for some new ones to watch some options on.

having trouble breaking $70

XOM broke north out of it's uptrend, but failed at 70 and then broke down at 69.8 after touching about 3 times on the intraday. Then the deluge.

Picked some up a little to early on Thursday but I can't imagine it going much lower. Should be a safe bet.

I'm with ya.. I'm loving XOM at these levels... A solid dividend and good long term growth in pps.
