AAPL - Apple Inc - Page 587

Congrats on all the longs on AAPL.  So much celebrating and partying going on.  I'm glade to say I cover my shorts on AAPL the day before earnings, but I'm also sad to say I didn't go long before (I never play earnings its pretty much a gamble to me).  With that said, I'll be shorting again if and when I see a good setup.  Nothing as of yet, but I'll be posting here when I do.

It will be difficult to short Apple now that it has resumed strong momentum. If you pull it off (because it comes down to time frame), awesome! One of the best times to short would be when they report in October again. Due to iPhone5 demands, the same situation will happen with the 4S. I know I am waiting for an iPhone5.

Sell in May and go away will be long Apple and go away until 2014.

Wow, I have not touched this chart in weeks and so far it has proven to be quite accurate. I think we should see $620 today (which is also the resistance line that has proven to be quite strong).

Thread is completely back to its bullish self again. Did anybody read that they lowered next quarters est EPS? Obviously apple is notorious for trying to say they aren't doing as good as they actually are, but food for thought. I think the top at 644.00 holds for a good bit longer than most in here are betting.

I shorted 635 calls yesterday at open. I'm betting that AAPL doesn't go anywhere for the rest of the week :)

You might be right, when the last earnings report was released in late January the price ranged between $440 and $450 from Wednesday to Friday. It wasn't until the following week that it began its parabolic move.

The reason it might stay flat would be the profit taking countering all the new positions being added. Once we get all the short-termers out, the longs will take this one to flight. The only concern then is funds rebalancing, and maybe a NASDAQ rebalance, which will happen eventually.

Im sure there are bunch of stops at $605-$606, does anybody have the power to go and scoop them up?

not saying you can't be right, but your confidence and how fast you flip flop "to be correct" should caution anybody from taking your advice.

i flip flop...bc at the end of the day the markets are right NOT me...

and im usually wrong bc...as my friends say...iam the gambler...

playing very low probability hits for big gains..thats my style...

the markets are a gamble...ill use that to make big bets

u can join all the nother bears on here..who kept shoving a drop to 300 (while it was dropping)

now they have all gone home

I'm not calling for $300 by any means, just playing it short term. I'm not thrilled with any stock to fall in love with nor hold for an extended period.

I'm sorry for bringing another view point to the thread. Since i posted this morning the stock has dropped $9 and falling, how are those calls?

like i said orginally..i keep adding at all 5$ drops

and like i said again i got 10K to lose... :)

my options have lots of time...and i see 640 before i see 580...

and all the bulls who bought before see that too...and all the options exercised will see that too
