I've been watching AAPL for a few months now. Was going to get in on Friday but didn't. Will try to get in this week if it comes down to $50. Jobs' huge presentation is in August.

i have been watching too. I love Apple as a company and have high hopes for it in the future but i just don't think the stock has found bottom yet.

earnings on 7/19 . i know its not expected to be up to par but i just can't understand how they couldn't be great. iPod is bigger and better than ever. iMac pupularity is growing. More stores offering MACs. Best buy selling macs (just recently in few stores) and have you ever been in an apple store that isnt crowded? I go to trendy clubs in hollywood and vegas and all the DJ's have Macbooks on the set. I am seeing it everywhere. Maybe im just biased because i love my macs but HOW COULD THEY NOT BE MAKING HUGE REVS? i guess we will see.

From a consumer stand point, I think they are doing well. I've know a ton of people buying up these apple macbooks. Then again us college kids get $100 off, free $100 printer, and free $200 Ipod nano. So I guess their cost will go up too with higher revenues

us college drop outs that lie and still get the free printer and ipod don't help either but on a serious note. I have quite a few friends who have either bought into the hype of the Mac advertisment or have been fed up with thier PC and made the change to MAC. i made the change and will never go back. I think they have a HUGE future

SWEET! i bought back into AAPL today because of my feelings i stated earlier. and we got good financials. cool

SAN FRANCISCO, July 19 (Reuters) - Apple Computer Inc. (AAPL.O: Quote, Profile, Research) on Wednesday posted a 48 percent jump in quarterly net income as sales of iPods and Intel Corp.-powered (INTC.O: Quote, Profile, Research) Macintosh computers topped expectations, sending shares nearly 8 percent higher.

Apple said it shipped 1.33 million Macintosh computers in the quarter and 8.11 million iPods, increases of 12 percent and 32 percent, respectively, year over year. iPod shipments topped some analysts' estimates of as low as 7.5 million for the period.

The iPod shipments appeared to calm investors worried that growth in that red-hot business was slowing and Apple's results topped what analysts had said was a conservative forecast. Shares of Apple were down some 24 percent since early May.

"Apple looked good," said Jane Snorek, technology analyst with First American Funds. "The PC numbers were great, too."

Peter Oppenheimer, Apple's chief financial officer, said in an interview that the company had a "fantastic quarter," adding that its share of the U.S. retail notebook market had doubled to 12 percent as measured by units in June from January.

"The results for the quarter were very solid, above people's expectations," said analyst Shannon Cross of Cross Research.

Apple said net income for its fiscal third quarter, ended July 1, rose to $472 million, or 54 cents per share, from $320 million, or 37 cents per share, a year earlier. Revenue rose 24 percent to $4.37 billion from $3.52 billion.

according to marketwatch we had 8%+ geen in after hours trading. Excited to see what tomorrow brings
post #15 of 16393
I was staring at it from 2pm to 4pm wondering if I should buy. Do you think it will come back down to 54 again soon? What's your prediction for tomorrow?
seeing the afterhours trading boost it 8% i would say tomorrow should be a great day for AAPL. will you see 54 again? i would say it is not out of the question with us in a bear market right now. I personaly feel todays earnings went well along with about 3 days of positive trading shows a good sign of a reversal from the down trend. we also see the MACD about to cross over. i think this might be good for a quick 5-10% gain from the open tomorrow then either sideways trading or a continuation of the downward trend

already up +12%, that was an easy gain. contemplaiting walking away with the quick buck i made
