up 50+% since 3:30 yesterday and I can't find any news...

Im concerned with nortel mainly because they are the top customer of the business I work for and if they go under that may mean no bonus for me this coming year . haha

lol, called up my ex-coworkers from Nortel. They have no idea either.

Maybe Canadian Gov. assistance? I know that was the rumor a while back.. But thats gone and over with.

Nortel Receives Bids of Almost $1 Billion for Unit, Globe Says

Dec. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Nortel Networks Corp. received offers of almost $1 billion for its Metro Ethernet unit, the Globe and Mail said today.

The business, put up for sale in September, accounted for 13 percent of Nortel's sales in the first nine months of the year, the newspaper reported. There are three offers and Nortel is continuing to weigh alternatives before signing a deal, the Globe said.

Three other companies expressed interest in buying the whole company, though none have given a price and the value of the Ethernet unit seems to be more stable than for Nortel as a whole, the Globe said.

EDIT: And boy am I glad, lol.

I went long 15K shares today at 0.29... we will see... not a huge position so if was a mistake oh well... I would sell when the news is announced on yahoo, possibly at around 0.75 if it gets there.

^ Great news, I've been watching this for awhile. Seems crazy that this company is doing so poorly. Guess I'll watch pre-market tomorrow.

why you dont buy it now

I would not be surprised if NT did eventually announce BK... however, NT has sold off from 16$ to 29 cents now... So this is a lottery play.

The question is whether this recent news will be more widely disseminated any time soon. IMO if this news was out there on yahoo finance, NT would be at least at 75 cents, or maybe 1.00$...

However, there remains the possibility of BK, of course, which NT would probably gap down 20-30%, imo... Note that the BK fears came out on Dec 10, and the day before, NT was trading at about 52-55 cents... we are now down to 0.28, and imo the recent news is mostly factored in. So I am betting on a recovery bounce on this news, which may allay BK fears for a bit... I think we could see 75c to 1.00$ if momo jumps on board.

Don't risk more than you can afford to lose. I am mainly concentrated here in JASO. I think there is a decent chance of 5$ on that, when solars rally again, when oil bounces.

I picked up 5,000 shares at .21 I have little doubt that it will hit .42 next week.

i have 3000 shares @.. .27...i think lotto play.....
could go either way.....
