Imagine a world with just one satellite company combining all stations; united as whole. THIS IS THE WORLD OF SIRIXM.

IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!
DREAM THE INVESTMENT!
RIDE THE BULL!

That ain't going to happen. They will lose a lot. Healthy competition keeps companies healthy.

If you bought Sirius yesterday at 3.66 you are looking good going into today. B?A is already 4.31/4.32.

*happy dance* ... in at 3.72.

Oh, and XM/SIRI merger would never happen. It would be like all of a sudden everyone in the middle east going "you know, this is silly, we're all believe in the same basic human values. Let's stop this fighting and provide free oil to the world."....

Not going to happen.

I for one, however, would LOVE to see AAPL make some heavy partnerships with SIRI and XMSR so i could PodCast some of the stations....

One Blogger's ideas....

The pod cast thing sounds like a great idea. Might as well make money on the hype.

But then again I'm agents the possibibilies of a merge not taking place. Competition does in deed make the economy stronger, but in this case. I think it will improve both of the companies expectations & make them more solid as a whole. Overall, the people will be getting more for the money.

Karmazin: Sirius would like to buy XM Satellite Radio

Karmazin: Sirius would like to buy XM Satellite Radio
Tuesday June 27, 8:10 am ET

Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. Chief Executive Mel Karmazin said Monday he would like to buy archrival XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc., but price and regulatory hurdles would be issues.
Karmazin, speaking at a conference in New York, stressed, however, that Sirius's business plan "doesn't really involve our doing a deal" and also indicated he wasn't interested in Sirius being bought.

"Regarding XM - would we like to buy them? Sure. We'd love to buy them. Price would matter, so that would be an issue... (and) there would definitely be the regulatory issue," he said.

"From our point of view, we don't see - other than if it was in the best interests of our shareholders - that we would be interested ever in being acquired," Karmazin added.

An XM spokesman said: "We do not comment on our competitors' wishful thinking."

XM leads Sirius in the young market for nationwide pay-radio, but Sirius's growth has been strong in the past year, powered in part by the launch of programming from Howard Stern. At the same time, XM has been stung by federal probes and concerns about its subscriber growth.

A combination of the two might be complicated by the fact that neither company has yet turned a profit. Moreover, XM's rich market capitalization is about $3.7 billion and Sirius's is even richer at around $6.3 billion, thanks to the market's anticipation of significant growth as demand for satellite radio spreads.

At the Convergence 2.0 conference, Karmazin said he is optimistic about the business and expects Sirius to reach revenue of $3 billion by 2010, up from about $242 million in 2005.

"Investors want to know if these companies can make money (and) are we going to get a return for investors," he said. "Right now the company is losing money, and that makes it hard to value."

not sure if many here remember way back when the satelite stocks started but when XMSR was dominating the cosmos and SIRI was in constant financial trouble the government stepped in and said that SIRI has to succeed due to the fact the XMSR would fall under the monopoly violation rule so don't plan on the two merging.

Two words - Dish Network and DirecTV. It won't happen. It would make a strong company. But competition is a must. I hope I never see the day they merge. They would suck worse than cable. Equipment would suck and no reason to better the programing. Competion = Good!!!

I love my Sirius!
