i would consider putting a short position on this. Reminds me of the dotcom bubble. It now has a market cap of 621.83M all because profits for one quarter were greater then expected. How quickly the investing public forgets...

Travelzoo profit more than doubles, shares soar

CHICAGO, April 18 (Reuters) - Internet travel services company Travelzoo Inc. (TZOO.O: Quote, Profile, Research) on Tuesday said its quarterly profit more than doubled on growth in online advertising sales, sending the company's stock up more than 40 percent,

The New York-based publisher of travel sales and specials said net income was $4.1 million, or 24 cents per share, in the first quarter, compared with $1.8 million, or 10 cents per share, a year earlier.

Travelzoo's earnings topped expectations for a profit of 14 cents per share, according to Reuters Estimates.

One analyst said the surprisingly strong earnings lifted the company's stock as did news earlier this month that Travelzoo publications reached more than 10 million subscribers.

"It appears customers are going to continue to be repeat customers," said Paul Foster, an analyst with theflyonthewall.com.

The company said its revenue grew 51 percent to $16.9 million.

"Q1 2006 marks our 31st consecutive quarter of growth in online advertising sales," said Chief Executive Ralph Bartel in a statement. "Q1 2006 results were also impacted by a lower than anticipated loss from our Europe business segment and a decrease in our effective tax rate."

Travelzoo's income tax rate decreased to 43.6 percent in the first quarter from 48.7 percent in the same quarter in 2005.

hopefully a mod can edit this one in with the proper first post details.

Anyways, expecting a potential fall from grace in the near future like it did in mid 2000s. Has ran pretty fast in the past few months...
