Was Gold Manipulated Like Libor Rates?

I was shocked to read this. Apparently the conspiracy theorists were right about gold (and silver) being manipulated by wallstreet and the banks. The US has acknowledged that silver was being manipulated (downward), and an investigation has been going on for 2 years but they havent done anything.

They won't ever do anything, they would probably be prosecuting themselves for their own crimes.

Silver in a big development here, I think 28.00-28.50 is a band of resistence above which we could see silver futures get some sustainable long momentum going. The chart below is small and crude, but it is easy to draw the price channel off last year's parabolic high (yellow line is upper TL of channel), and the trendline below (red line) to form a descending triangle is also easy to see. We have silver making a few tops in the low 28s, and anything over 28.50 if it looks good to the long side should be trustworthy... what do the silver bugs think about this?

I think it is due for a pop. Oil passed that resistance part so it looks like other commodities are going to get past their old resistance mark.

Very funny and odd how this was dropped. Someone got their pockets filled because Silver prices should never have tanked the way that they did from $50 to $25

Silver has been flat for quite some time now but perhaps the time has come now for a spike up. Let's see if we spike from here.

The gains did come in as predicted. Let's see if we can continue to climb from here smile.gif

Congrats to those who have been accumulating for a long time, our time may be coming finally!

I've been accumulating physical silver for a while from Golden Eagle Coins and APMEX. I bought it while it was in the circled consolidation pattern. I'm not planning on selling it either. It's my Keynesian insurance. laughing.gif

We're right at that trend line. Should be interesting... popcorn.gif

I hope SLV hits $40.oz again. I have been holding the SLV ETF for so long that it needs to at least pay off a couple thousand from the margin interest it has incurred me, lol.

SLV seems to have broken out of its rectangle on very heavy volume yesterday, so it should continue to run.

Congrats!

Would love to see it hit $40 this week but I doubt it. I would be happy with a move to even just $35 but I think it may drop a bit before going back up again. One thing for sure is that it should go up provided we see QE3 this year and if we don't I have a feeling that it could drop back down to $25-26. This recent gain is based on hopes of QE3

Pop indeed. Broke long term resistance too. I don't like it, but I think the U.S. economy is in for some serious shit down the road. I'm holding my silver for the foreseeable future. Maybe until I'm a crotchety old man. laughing.gif
