Margin or not?

Hey everyone,

If I open a simple cash account, can I upgrade to a margin down the road? I will probably go with Ameritrade. I do not have enough for a margin at this time. Also, I do not plan to daytrade, maybe swing, short term trading on average. Not sure if this matters, but I do NOT plan to trade pennies/otcs at this time.

Get a margin it is much better then a cash account due to not waiting until the cash settles

I do not think the question was answered, but yes, you can move to a margin account once you have the funds available.

margin account is required to trade stock options as well
