Whats the advantage of buying high cost stocks?

Compared to something like under $10 a share, it seems much harder to make money when you paying $80 a share, it will be hard to make 50% over.

A $80 per share company is generally much more stable and safe than a penny stock. If you want to preserve capital, and make smaller gains, this is the safest way to do so. Large cap companies are usually not as susceptable to pump and dumps, or market fluctuations.

Everyday there are a few penny stocks that make huge gains. But also remember that many also continue to drop. The decision you must make is whether you want to play safe or take a risk...

Good luck

Also remember that when buying more expensive stocks you can take a larger position (thousands and thousands of dollars) as opposed to a penny stock whose price would increase dramatically if you were to by 50,000 dollars or more. Bigger stocks can take huge ammounts of money flow both in and out before the price drops thus it is safer when playing with tons of money.

First thing you need to understand is that its not the price of the stock, its the amount of shares outstanding.

If you have two equal sized pizza's, one is cut into four slices, and the other cut into twelve slices, which pizza is bigger?

So stocks over $10 dont go up too far?

I lik eplaying the big ones b/c very fast money. If you take a $60 stock most likely it will move by 30 cents very fast. I like to play 2500 shares at a time and you can flip it for 250-500 at a time. Just make sure you know your charting as fast as it comes it could go even faster.

Anyone that says big stocks don't move fast haven't seen TIE or HANS. Those two are constantly moving by 5 to 10% a day. May not seem like much compared to those pennies that move 40% in a day, but how long do you have to sit on it before it makes that kind of move? I bought FMLY two months ago and still waiting to see some action.

The other thing that makes me more comfortable about big stocks is you're not at the whim of some MMs manips. The big boards, you're riding momo of millions of dollars at a time. You get a smaller slice each time, but as long as I get my fill of the pie at the end of the day, what do I care?

It really comes down to the amount of money you have in your account. I like to play under $10.00 and look for 5% moves. If I can get 5% a week I can make about $500.00 a week.

After a few years of that, if I can consistently make money, i'll need to move to more expensive stocks and perhaps change my strategy a little. Working with more money means you have to work with larger prices.
