Dividend payout question?

I have never recieved a dividend while using an online brokerage and was wondering how this works and how long it takes? Will that go straight into my acct? If it does and the payout date is March 22, should I see that in my acct tomorrow and will I then have to wait 3 days for it to settle? Thanks.

nope idk....are u getting it from what stock was it again OH YEA hyrf, im waiting on one from them this week too i think it'll show up the day of but im not sure it might depend on brokers it'll be my first dividend payment so...

Any dividend I was supposed to received, I received on the date of settlement. So when they say the divident will be settled on the 22nd to the holders of one share on the 17th you should see it in your account on the 22nd but I don't know if that depends on the broker but I have always had it on the settlement day.

Thanks for the input. The money was in my acct this am I dont have to wait for a settlement w/ scottrade it appears. All ready to trade.
