What do you make of the lawsuit against yahoo about the Nazi memorabilia case?
It was just(tonight) announced they lost this case.

Not really worried about that, because it's not a very big deal, and I am looking at Yahoo as a short trade, which will be over next week...

Yahoo is up 10% on the year 2005, and I have heard that they had a good forth quarter with paid search and advertising relitive to Google, that being said it may be good for an earnings spike of average 2-3 points for that day.
So I would not buy it unless, I got it below 40. Volume has dropped way off on Yahoo and Google.

MOM you don't think it will come down to 39 ?

Hrm, I would usually agree with MindOverMarkets on this pick based on Yahoo's predicted earnings. However with the fed rate +/- still up in the air, I'm not sure that we'll see 9% out of Yahoo. It's still not a bad investment though. I can't see anyone losing money on it, so it's fairly low risk! Based on that information, hell I might load up too and see what happens

This looks good for next week, but I think it may drop more. I put in a buy for 39.1 in case it dropps back to that support level. If that doesn't go through I may still buy on Monday.

I think Yahoois cheap, and with the conservative earnings forecast for this QTR they DO have room to grow. Basically, the street cares about one number, EPS!!! And I think 4Q will be good. I dont care about the feds rates, and analysts upgrades and downgrades, I think that had it not been for Yahoo being downgraded, we'd alread be above $45, but they will have to get there without the analysts. I think Yahoo is one step ahead of google, in that they have a more solid stream of revenue, which relies on subscription based services. They also have an edge, in that their website is used for shopping (GREAT FOR HOLIDAYS, => 4Q), and for news, sports, finance, chatting, music, games, instant messaging, email, etc.

Thats why I like Yahoo, and thats why I believe in 4Q numbers.

I thought you already got in this? And wouldn't it be too late to get in on Tuesday, as that is when earnings come out? Or maybe they annouce earnings after the bell on Tuesday. If that is the case, I may get in Tuesday morning if it doesn't gap up.

To me, I don't play the ER, it is very risky, You may not get the whole pie, but better than lose

don't forget Flickr announced in 2005. It's a great paid subscription service.

I have already stated in my post, play ER is very dangerous, typically if you see the unloading several days before ER.

BTW, my APR 35 put will runs huge this time. Just lucky

Next it will be AMZN, as I posted before, straddle time for AMZN
