American Superconductor Corporation offers a range of solutions based on two technologies, programmable power electronic converters and high temperature superconductor (HTS) wires. The company operates in two segments, AMSC Power Systems and AMSC Superconductors. The AMSC Power Systems segment produces a range of products to increase electrical grid capacity and reliability; supplies electrical systems used in wind turbines; sells power electronic products that regulate wind farm voltage to enable their interconnection to the power grid; licenses wind energy system designs to manufacturers of such systems; and provides consulting services to the wind industry. This segment offers power electronics; grid reliability, power quality, and interconnection systems; and wind energy systems and solutions for transmission and distribution, wind power, and manufacturing industries. The AMSC Superconductors segment engages in the manufacture of HTS wire and coils; design and development of HTS products, such as power cables, fault current limiters, and rotating machines; and management of HTS projects, such as HTS power cable system design, manufacturing, and installation. This segment sells its HTS wire to original equipment manufacturers that incorporate HTS wire into value-added products for electric utilities, ship integrators, and industrial end-users. The company serves wind energy, and power transmission and distribution markets in North America, Europe, and Asia. American Superconductor has strategic alliances with GE Energy, Nexans, Siemens AG, Southwire, Vestas, and Northrop Grumman Marine Systems. The company was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Westborough, Massachusetts.

AMERICAN SUPERCONDUCTOR CORP (AMSC.O: Quote, Profile, Research) Short interest was up more than 22 percent in shares of the
energy technology company. The company posted a narrower-than-expected quarterly loss
last month and analysts have been mixed on the company as
Raymond James raised its investment rating on the stock, while
Jefferies cut its rating, last month. The company said on
Tuesday it had received a major Chinese follow-on order. About 12.3 million of the company's shares were held short,
or about 29 percent of its total shares outstanding.

Big short position growing and citron report questioning the validity of that big $450M order.

No position yet, but I would play the short side if I see it break below $42 for a quick trade.

Performing an evening scan and AMSC popped up.
Looking to re-enter the name at $36, once it closes its gap(partial) and bounces of the lower band of the fib channel and RSI trend support line.
Best in show in the wind/power system segment sector.

I started a position on AMSC at $37.20. I only put 1/4 of the intended position on AMSC. If it shows convergence, I'll add the remaining position, if it dips back below $36, I'll also add the rest of the position.
Scanning to see what other stock are worth buying the bounce.
