What do the colors mean?

I've been looking at level II information and notice that the sales are high-lighted in either green, red (sort of pinkish) or just plain white.

What do the colors symbolize...I looked for a key and couldn't find it.

on edit....I suspect the answer might elicit a "well...duh.." moment...

On the sales side, green is a transaction where the price is higher than the previous transaction. Red is a transaction where the price was lower than previous. White are transactions at the same price as previous.

But what I cannot figure out is: What do the red and green randomly placed arrows on the bid and ask signify? They seem to come and go - and also be placed randomly?

The arrows signify that MM's movement. If the arrow on the bid side is pointing up then that means an MM just moved to a higher price from where he was before (good sign). If an arrow is pointing up on the ask side that means an MM just moved down from where he was before (bad sign). Basically on the bid side you want arrows moving up which gives you stronger bid support and on the ask side you want arrows pointing down which means MMs are running away to higher prices. Hope that helps and hope I didnt state anything incorrectly. Its a very useful bit of info though. Just learned it recently myself.

Thanks, I appreciate the info - and will watch on Tuesday to see how it works out. Have been following Level 2 for a long time but could never figure out a pattern of movement or what the arrows meant.
