lol, what are you writing calls?

They will settle, NTP wont make money by shutting down RIM. But if $450 million wasn't just enough, i think it may be $1 BILLION or more, which will hit RIM hard, but will finally get this burden of their shoulders, and with all these shorts, it could have a pretty good run, but I think their is still more news to come before they settle, and it will be a rocky road until the day its over...

I am watching RIMM slowly, slowly make its way down lower, and lower...

I am going to load up on some calls when it gets around 60.50

I think 60 is a round support, and if it breaks that I will buy more in the high 50's.

The key is to load up at different times, not all at once. But I think it will fly with the shorts driving it up once we get some positive news on the settlement...

BlackBerry maker scores a gain in long patents war

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The maker of the BlackBerry on Wednesday gained some ground as it fights a battle over patents with NTP, which is trying to shut down most sales and service of the portable e-mail device in the United States.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued a final rejection of one of five disputed patents owned by NTP, another step in a long process that Research In Motion Ltd. (Toronto:RIM.TO - news)(Nasdaq:RIMM - news) hopes will allow it to keep operating its U.S. BlackBerry service.

They report today.

I think you could short them right this second and close for a profit before the bell.

Could be a straddle candidate too.

The firm says RIM beat Q2 expectations on new products, upgrades and channel expansion. The firm says while enterprise growth is expected to continue, Q2 results and guidance further improve visibility into RIM's 4x addressable market expansion via its consumer strategy, while affirming its competitive advantages against 'Blackberry Killers'.
