Down. I remember last year on Monday at this time (August 8th) was a blood bath after we got our credit rating downgraded on August 5th (Friday). Those were fun times, and I'd like to see some volatility in the markets again.

Is there any site which records these events in years past.. time association and all?

That i would pay for.. anything else.. pffft..

I voted up due to not seeing anything to change the feel of the markets since Friday, plus it is one of the quieter weeks for numbers. It should be pretty easy to chop around on low volume and spend 1/2 of one session and most of another constructing a nice 15-20 pt gain for the week. Obviously that puts us in sniffing distance of 52 wk highs, and the 1380 level has been unkind to bulls previously... but maybe it really is different this time. Or hopefully I just make a lucky guess.

I hope you're right and I'm wrong. That would be a much nicer scenario.

Perhaps this weekly sentiment poll could be combined with the weekly Stock Market Today thread to perhaps attract more voters. Right now the site says there are 133 active users, though the votes rarely exceed 20. Would be great to see a greater number of votes. Interesting how close the up and down votes are each week, rarely is there a big skew.
